I experienced pretty bad service and quality during my recent stay. I paid for a premium room and was expecting an upgrade through the program I used to book, but instead, I got a basic room, which was a downgrade from the rate I paid. My room came with free dinner and free breakfast, although those were added to my...

We had decided to get married in the Spanish Plaza.. We had already booked our holiday which was a cruise from New Orleans and decided to go a few days earlier and after 22 years have a street wedding. The hotel staff were brilliant. We had champagne and chocolates in our room and helped with arranging for someone to escort...

From the moment Hudson checked in, the stay was great. My room was ready early on the top floor, upgraded to a superior king with sweet views. Thank you Starwood Gold. I had last stayed here when it was the W New Orleans. All the staff I encountered were wonderful. The rooms are renovated, sleek and comfortable. Nice bathroom with...

We were treated so well here. The rooms were nice and comfortable. Everything was close by. It was in walking distance to Bourbon street and the shopping mall at the pier. We were greeted every time we came into the hotel. They really made us feel at home.

We got a double bed room, unfortunately it was very small. I had to walk in the bathroom in order to let the next person in the room. The staff was friendly and helpful and worked hard to make sure our stay was up to it. The rooms need to be cleaned better than what was done. I stepped on...

We were in town for a wedding and booked Le Meridien with the wedding party. The hotel is located outside of the French Quarter but the location was ideal because it was away from the noise of the French Quarter, but easily accessible to it and other attractions. It is only a 15 min walk to the French Quarter or...

I stayed here when it was the "W" years ago and still maintains the same hip, cool vibe. Mirrors in the lobby. Big giant front door. Chair on the ceiling. But I think that look and vibe is now a bit dated. My wife and my room was nice but a bit spartan. We were upgraded through the AmEx Platinum...

Nice hotel, it is within walking distance to the convention center and Fulton street area. Bathroom was small room was OK. The courteous staff made up for what the actual hotels brick and mortar lacked.

This is a good place to stay if you want to be outside of the French Quarter or in town for business. The main floor is a bit more updated than the rooms, but overall it is a good choice. We ordered room service which was decent. We were in and out pretty fast but the staff treated us well.

Stayed here a few days with my husband. Nice hotel. Has the basics you need. Pool is tiny but I spent no time there as I was out and about New Orleans. Bathroom is quite efficient. Wish it was bigger. Had an ok view. Great location. Close to Bourbon, street cars, riverfront, and warehouse district. Great central location. Danny the...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
