I always try to start a review with a positive so here goes, upon arrival the hotel was clean and when we got to our room it was pleasant. The gym was ok although with the temperature set to 72.5 and no fan or cleaning wipes for the equipment was somewhat off putting. We did try to change the temperature but were unable and In the end we brought our own cleaning wipes down with us. Now for the one star review, upon approach to the hotel people were sitting outside the front doors smoking both cigarettes and weed which was off putting to say the least. As we entered the hotel the staff couldn’t have been more unwelcoming. There was a sign telling us that the pool, bar and restaurant were closed and when we got to our room that housekeeping would be every 3 days. We stayed 6 and never had our room cleaned once even though we called to request it. On the second day I called down for towels and was told to come downstairs to get them, I asked about housekeeping dropping them off as I was ready to shower only to be told that if I could find them on the 6th floor knock myself out. At no time did any employee of the hotel go out of their way to be friendly or helpful. With all the lack of “service” you’d think they’d give a discount or at least let you know days before you are to arrive of the closures so you could make different arrangements. The pool and facilities was the major draw to this hotel. I feel like the use by facilities of the statement “due to Covid” means, due to laziness and the under commitment by facilities owners to pay good wages to staff has lead to unhappy employees who won’t do any more than the bare minimum. We will not be staying at this facility or any facility managed by this group in the future. Don’t waste your money!

My family and I stayed at this hotel during a weekend getaway to New Orleans. This was my 2nd time staying at the hotel. It’s very nice and affordable. I like it because it’s clean, modern, and has nice amenities and a short distance from the busiest part of Canal Street. I knew prior to arrival that valet parking was unavailable this time due to Covid but I did expect to still have access to the hotel’s parking private parking garage which I found out upon arrival was unavailable as well. However, I never imagined that upon returning to my vehicle the morning of checkout, I would find that my driver’s side glass would be broken and several items were stolen from the truck. We were parked in a premium parking lot beside the hotel and several other vehicles were broken into as well. While I realize the hotel isn’t at fault, I think they should at least have security monitoring the outside area at least while valet parking is unavailable. When I called them to report the incident and to see if they had any surveillance cameras, their response was I needed to call the police station to report the incident and they would be able to check with surrounding businesses about surveillance footage.

Due to new Covid cleaning guidelines, guest rooms are only cleaned once every 3 days...completely understandable. Being that our stay was 3 days, it would have been nice/courteous/hospitable to provide extra trash can liners, ice bucket liners, (as they do tissue) etc. without having to request them. We had 2 rooms, one’s power outlets in half of the room were inoperable, both were without tv service during the entire stay. When we inquired about the aforementioned, we were simply told, “It’s not our fault, it’s due to the storm (which took place over a week a go). I’m ok with that it was resulted from the storm, but the fact that we HAD TO ASK was the issue. There could have been a pre-warning i.e., signage notifying us as such, or simply being verbally informed during check-in. The level of front desk service has somewhat diminished; they were very nice and helpful, albeit, compared to my stays, pre-Covid, were disappointing. Everyone (that we encountered) now sits behind the desk with cell phone in hand, instead of standing and being present as before. To say the least, the typical standards I enjoyed and appreciated have “fizzled out”. There is no longer valet service due to rainy/weather conditions, that lead to flooding. So the hotel has installed flood barriers/walls where valet service previously resided, to prevent flooding in the hotel.

I'm not one for writing reviews but difficulties here are beyond the pale. I booked a 3 week business stay at the Sonder at the Jung residences. Basically the renovation of this place is completely incompetent and shoddy beyond anything I've ever seen. the first unit had no internet (I'm on a business trip). I went to the desk and they said, "Oh yea we know that room has never had a connection". Then why did you book me?! The rug was tattered and stained, and the AC was so sound my conference call participants told me to turn it off..which wasn't great for me bc the windows don't open and it the rooms are incredibly stuffy. So after all that they changed me to another room which I am now. Working internet, but let's list the things that DONT work: showerhead, sink drains, hot water pot, 2 outlets next to the only table/desk (where do I plug in a computer to work?!), the "roomcast" for streaming (Yup no way to watch TV), ceiling fan, AND the AC unit again sounds like a hurricane and I barely slept bc it woke me up every time it turned on. DO NOT STAY HERE, the building is terribly renovate and the staff can't really do anything to help you.

STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN!! THIS IS THE WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVERY STAYED AT.The cleaners never came to our room. The staff is ALWAYS on their phones at the front desk and never had a mask on. There were no washcloths in our room and when I called down to the front desk they said they would not bring it up I needed to come down and get it.  If I am paying for this room number one it should be in the room number 2 you should get off your butt and bring it to the room. We stayed here for 5 days never once did I see anyone come to clean our room when I booked it said once every 3 days. It is SOOOOOOO loud which was not in the description because the next building over is an ER and there are ambulances coming and going all night long along with people running up and down the floors and doors slamming and people yelling. This is also no where in the heart of the city you have to walk at least a half of a mile just to get to a store or restaurant. Stay as far away from this hotel as possible plus the beds are so uncomfortable. Everything about this place is the worst, not sure how ever got any diamonds. I did not feel comfortable leaving anything of value in the rooms.
