Booked on Hotwire.com and discovered this 3.5 star place for a night on the town. Clean, with easy access and spacious suite to entertain our group before hopping on the trolley for cocktails. Parked at Premium Parking 158 for $10 per night. (This spot is 2 minutes from the hotel). You can park next door to the hotel for $30....

Nice size rooms and a clean and tidy bathroom with shower over the bath, loads of hot water, nice toiletries and good towels and a hair drier. Coffee machine in room could do with more creamer but that's just being picky. Breakfast is American with bagels, muffins ,croissants etc also s waffle machine to make your own fresh waffles, which...

Hey There Grahammckenna! Thank you so much for being a part of our Hotel Modern Family. We were so honored to have you! I will definitely take a look at the mixers for the coffee in the room... I am the same and like lots of cream so I can relate to that feeling. We really hope your experience in...

Had a lovely stay here for 5 nights. The location is great - opposite the streetcar for all the downtown needs and right next to the WW2 museum. The rooms were not huge by US but were certainly big enough and the price was good. Nice continental buffet breakfast each day (no restaurant on site). Wifi was quite spotty which...

The staff were all great very friendly and helpful. If I was staying in the city again I might look at...

Hello smith0128250, Thank you so much for your comments! It was a pleasure having you join us. We are about a 5 min streetcar ride away from the quarter but we like to think of it as a night on the town, and sleep outside of the craziness lol. We also have so much to explore close by being in...

If you're looking for a decent hotel in a decent location for a decent price, you got it. There was nothing luxurious about this place, but like I said it was good. You will need to do a lot of walking or take an uber or, if you're lucky, a streetcar, to get to the French Quarter, but it's do-able....

Hey There StPeteGemini! It was such a pleasure having you here as part of our Hotel Modern Family! Streetcar is most certainly my favorite way to get to the French Quarter! We stayed at the Hotel Modern through our Global Discoveries vacation plan, and we loved our stay because of the cheerful, helpful people, the location between all of the areas of interest, the ample breakfasts, the unique decor, and the views. Our favorites were the people. Jeff, the concierge, started us right out the first morning with help planning our...

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! I was going to a conference in New Orleans, so I booked a room for five nights. Staying in Arts District / Warehouse District

Neighbourhood Profile
Arts District / Warehouse District
Once a thriving industrial zone, today this district is home to a buzzing arts scene with an amazing assortment of galleries, boutiques, and studios having moved in and set up shop throughout the disused warehouses for which the area is so well known. Much of the art you'll come across here is local in scope, ownership and inspiration. However, among the many old brick warehouses are modern structures of steel and glass housing large-scale cultural institutions of national prominence such as the National World War II Museum, the Contemporary Arts Center, and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. Just as eye catching as what’s on view inside the galleries and museums is the chance to see your ship come in at the Julia Street Cruise Terminal, which serves as a wistful reminder of the city’s historic maritime prominence.
