We thought this hotel was very basic. Good value because during peak times NOLA hotel prices sky rocket. We chose this hotel so my black lab could stay with us. They have a nice pet policy, not too expensive. Service was poor. There was always a wait to check in/out. The restaurant was constantly out of everything for breakfast- we...

I probably would not stay here again. The location is decent as it's a straight shot on the RTA (trolley) to the French Quarter. It's a bit far to walk 1+ mile but the train picks up at Lee Circle so that's convenient. The hotel is a bit tired. They don't seem to keep it up. The AC in the...

Clean rooms and friendly staff at check in...got the room on an express deal from Priceline and agree with their 3 star rating (good hotel for price) True to NOLAs nature, hotel had issues with humidity which is why they struggled with mold in shower area (ceiling). Hotel tried going for a modern look in their paint...They used a matte...

My daughter and I had a lovely time at the Hotel Modern. Very clean, the staff was wonderful, and it's right on the street car line. You can get to the garden district, warehouse, the quarter, EVERYWHERE within minutes. Even walking! It was perfect for us. I can't thank Nicole enough in the office for fixing a credit card issue...

We stayed here last minute. Flights were cancelled for Sunday so left on a Saturday no hotel, but checked into hotel modern. It was quaint, quiet very clean. Would recommend staying here , but off the beaten path. Trolley or cab to French quarter.

The Hotel Modern in New Orleans is an older hotel that could stand updating and remodeling. It is NOT a bad hotel by any means, especially for its price in the Big Easy. My single room is a bit on the smallish side, but clean and comfortable enough to get by for my three night stay here. The receptionist (Britany)...

This hotel is located one block from the WWII museum. Walking distance from the art district. The cable car turns around in front of the hotel, so going to see the sites is easy. I would describe the hotel as industrial with cement walls. I understand it was the YMCA for many years.

This is a decent hotel not too far from the action of the French district. It's about a 15 to 20 minute walk from where most of the action is. It's a bit of a walk, but the hotel is better priced than those closer. The rooms are quiet. The breakfast is very basic and could be better. My only...

We really liked our two nights stay in this hotel. The location is ok, a little walk away from Canal St and French Quarter. Our room was quiet, clean and spacious enough. Breakfast is included, even though not too rich. Parking is not included, so if you're travelling by car consider you'll spend 30$ a day for the parking lot.

Staying in Arts District / Warehouse District

Neighbourhood Profile
Arts District / Warehouse District
Once a thriving industrial zone, today this district is home to a buzzing arts scene with an amazing assortment of galleries, boutiques, and studios having moved in and set up shop throughout the disused warehouses for which the area is so well known. Much of the art you'll come across here is local in scope, ownership and inspiration. However, among the many old brick warehouses are modern structures of steel and glass housing large-scale cultural institutions of national prominence such as the National World War II Museum, the Contemporary Arts Center, and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. Just as eye catching as what’s on view inside the galleries and museums is the chance to see your ship come in at the Julia Street Cruise Terminal, which serves as a wistful reminder of the city’s historic maritime prominence.
