I stayed here for 5 nights with a Groupon offer and I was pretty excited for the hotel. The website boasts "farm to table restaurant, voted one of the best bars, live music every night, complimentary drink on arrival and shown to your room....." None of this is true. Apparently the hotel has recently changed management and the manager closed...

Clean, quiet, cozy. A serviceable hotel in an amazing city. The Wi-Fi was lacking, but that's something that can be addressed. The location is superb and the staff was courteous and efficient. It stands to benefit from a restaurant or Bar in the building.

Room was very sparse. No chair in room besides desk chair. Also no iron or ironing board. Lobby is nice and front desk people were very welcoming. Had a bike rack right in front. Breakfast was included and was acceptable.

We got to the hotel and our room didn't have working lights but the musty odor hit us first. We then got lights and well it was sad. The upholstered furniture was NASTY. The areas where people had touched were black. The carpet was nasty. I lysoled as much as humanly possible to feel ok staying there. The front desk...

Not sure where to begin. The poor service at check in? The poor service at check out? Dirty room? Dirty tables? No luggage carts? Hotel seemed understaffed and unaffected. And the decor definitely not as hip & modern as pictures indicate. I've stayed in hostels with better service & amenities. Find a better deal elsewhere. And definitely don't pay $27...

We got a great deal using a Groupon for this hotel. It is centrally located in the Warehouse/Arts district between the Garden District and French Quarter. It is on the streetcar line which was great traveling in both directions. It is one block from the WWII museum. It had a great breakfast each morning and I liked having a frig...

This was hands-down a terrible experience and worst place Ive ever stayed in New Orleans. Upon arrival it seems nice, but once you start using the facilities it is clear that the place is not maintained and the owners do not care about their guests. Firstly the valet parking that is advertised is not real. We way overpaid for parking,...

Had a nice stay at this hotel last weekend. Room was nice, very clean and very quiet. Fire alarm went off around 8 am and we were outside for a while waiting for the hotel to be cleared. Staff wasn't very friendly. Great location for a good price.

We stayed at the hotel Modern for 4 nights, and it was a great experience. Excellent location, extremely clean, very friendly and professional staff. Good quality hotel for a reasonable price. I really loved the hotel. At first it was kind of a culture shock because I had not visited a hotel with such personality and charm. It grew on me quickly. We had a wonderful two-night stay. The room was quiet, had everything we needed and they even brought up an bucket of ice for us. Really enjoyed our stay.

Staying in Arts District / Warehouse District

Neighbourhood Profile
Arts District / Warehouse District
Once a thriving industrial zone, today this district is home to a buzzing arts scene with an amazing assortment of galleries, boutiques, and studios having moved in and set up shop throughout the disused warehouses for which the area is so well known. Much of the art you'll come across here is local in scope, ownership and inspiration. However, among the many old brick warehouses are modern structures of steel and glass housing large-scale cultural institutions of national prominence such as the National World War II Museum, the Contemporary Arts Center, and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. Just as eye catching as what’s on view inside the galleries and museums is the chance to see your ship come in at the Julia Street Cruise Terminal, which serves as a wistful reminder of the city’s historic maritime prominence.
