I wanted to like this property. Its as close to the French Quarter as you can get without being there. Unfortunately, my first interaction on checking in the tour group I was coordinating was that they delivered someone else's luggage to my room. It had my room number on it, but wasn't my luggage. Fortunately they found my luggage, also...

This hotel is a block or two off of Canal and away from noise of Bourbon St. Its a clean, decent, average hotel. There is no advantage to stay here if you're a Marriott Platinum customer. The concierge lounge was closed, a breakfast coupon was offered instead. The gym is quite poor with 4 noisy treadmills, a weight set and...

We really liked this hotel - great staff at reception, nice sized room - this time we had a corner room so lots of windows and light. Places to put suitcases off the floor and enough closet space for fancy garments. Enough space on either side of the sink for toiletries, too. Very nice restaurant with access from the lobby...

I recently attended a national conference in NOLA but wanted a quiet place to stay, close to everything -- the conference venue, French Quarter, Central Business District, St Charles streetcar line. This hotel could not have been better! The location was ideal; the room quiet, clean and lovely; the staff friendly and helpful. Thank you... I would definitely stay here...

I stayed here for 3 nights during a business trip. This hotel has some smaller rooms that are less expensive and are perfect for 1-2 people, thus saving my company money. The location is phenomenal! Right across the street from all the action in the French Quarter but just far enough away for a peaceful nights sleep. The hotel is...

My husband and I had a 3 day stay in New Orleans last week and stayed that this property for the first time. I could not have been happier with the hotel. The staff was great, efficient and the rooms were updated, clean and spacious. The AC was really cold and the location was a plus. I read some other...

Just a couple of blocks from the French Quarter, this was a very nice hotel. It is nice being able to walk to the French Quarter without having to deal with all the street partying. Clean rooms and friendly staff. The restaurant, Oyster Counter was lacking. We ordered the hamburger and it was not very good.

Last minute trip for 5 to New Orleans for Easter weekend, did not give me a lot of choices for hotels since I needed 3 rooms. I was delighted with the Renaissance Pere Marquette. The location, quiet rooms, and service were a pleasant surprise.

I have been to New Orleans many times, yet this is my first stay here. Wonderful. Here's why: 1. Not grand or historic, yet the lobby is clean, modern and comfortable. 2. Repeated interactions with various members of staff proved to be courteous, professional, and fun. Everything from complimentary umbrellas to quick check in worked. 3. The rooms are clean,...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
