We stayed 12/18-22/16. The room rate was good and they have off street secured parking. That’s where the party ends. The bar/restaurant has no online menu. Prices are high for NOLA. The staff at the front need Customer Service training. Don’t bring valuables because no in room safes. It’s a great hotel if you don’t need wi-fi. We went to...

Was a bit anxious going in, but emerged really satisfied. The location is definitely its strong point, but beyond that the hotel has created a sense of "community" through its helpful staff, active bar & cafe, and the general atmosphere of the place. If you don't expect all the comforts of home - this is not a top tier category...

We got in a day early, and stopped at the I-10 rest area east of NOLA. I asked the clerk for a room suggestion for the night, not too expensive, and she replied, "How does $69 a night, free parking in the French Quarter sound?" Well, it sounded great, and I think I shall never book another room in advance...

This is my first time in New Orleans. So I'm not sure of the cultural norms of the city but there was an odd vibe at Le Richelieu. When I checked in (late at night) I carried everything in item by item. With one left to go the desk clerk asked if I needed help. Not at that point. Was...

We loved staying here 3 nights right before Christmas. When we checked in, the hosts were gracious and friendly. We arrive a little before check in and they had no problem getting us in our room. We were on the 2nd floor, it had french doors opening to a beautiful patio overlooking Charters Street. To the left I could see...

My mother and I spent a week at Le Richelieu and I can't say enough good things about the hotel!!! We were treated so well by the staff. They were always willing to help with directions and recommendations. It felt like a comfy and safe home base! We had the breakfast twice... filling, well priced, and extremely fast. Some may...

Le Richelieu has been our top choice for lodging in New Orleans for many years. Its location is perfect for those driving into the city, with convenient self-parking. Its location in the back corner of the French Quarter is convenient and quiet, and its rooms are comfortable and spacious. The bar and cafe are just what you need, and the...

Very nice hotel with beautiful reception area. The rooms are lovely and clean with all the things you need including make up remover wipes. The location is in the French Quarter and is just a hop and a skip from Frechmen Street where there are nine jazz bars. It is also close to the French market. This hotel does not...

The location is perfect. In the quiet end of the French quarter and walking distance from everything. The cafe served great breakfast and lunch. Rooms were large and clean. No complaints. We will be back.

I was home in New Orleans this September to attend the Navy vs. Tulane football game. I chose not to stay at my mother’s house in favor of hanging with my friends and laying our heads at the Richelou Hotel. The Richelou is like every other historic hotel in the French Quarter. It is old and in need of a...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
