Terrell House is an exceptional venue for our son's wedding. Set in the Garden District in an amazing 1874 Mansion with courtyards, fountains and wonderfully comfortable public rooms, it offers luxury, comfort and history. Rooms, meals, and ambiance are high-lights; there are no low-lights. The wedding reception was very well done: the food was superb. Linda and her staff are...

We have been to the Terrell House several times during the 4 years our son was at Tulane. It is conveniently located, with easy parking, great breakfast and friendly staff. We enjoy taking morning walks around the Garden District. Our most recent stay was for Graduation and we were in one of the 2 BR/1 BA apartments across the street...

This beautiful home, with a gorgeous courtyard, was perfectly situated close to the heart of New Orleans but in a much more quiet neighborhhod. Linda O'Brien, the owner, was very gracious and accomodating. When we discovered a burnt out bulb upon arrival, it was immediately attended to. Even though there was a rehearsal dinner and wedding in the courtyard, the...

This was my second visit to NOLA and my second to Terrell House as well. A girlfriend and I found it online two years ago when we were looking to have a long weekend. We were there during the last weekend of Jazz Fest, unbeknownst to us, and everything in the city was pretty well booked. However, Terrell House had...

We stayed at the Terrell House where my nephews wedding was held. Our accommodations were excellent and the wedding was a glamorous affair. The Terrell House personnel worked hard to make everything a memorable experience.

We rented 4 rooms for my side of the family for a wedding held on site. I am the pickiest person on the planet and manage my own rental properties. Every detail at the Terrell House was perfect and we had such a great time all staying on location. It was so nice to park right in front of our...

As first timers to NOLA we wanted somewhere historic and we're delighted when we pulled up outside Terrell House to be shown in by the owner, Linda. The house is just gorgeous- lovely 14 ft ceilings, antiques and art everywhere. We were staying in the Gold Suite and the pictures didn't do it justice. Ideal for a couple, especially if...

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.

“We toured the mansion and found all rooms exceptional, clean, beautifully decorated, and comfortable. Our room was the apartment in the newly reconstructed "Corner Store". Spacious with new everything, including new, reproduction and antique materials and furnishings. Even the bed was great (not a Temper-Pedic I was told - could have fooled me - I own one)! This property has no down-side - period.”
