When you think New Orleans, who doesn't picture a grand old garden district home? Lovely counterbalance to the 'fun' of French quarter. They pull off posh without it being intimidating, and the honey butter was to die for!

This B&B is in the Garden district of New Orleans. Security is great, with a locked gate. Only a few blocks from bus and streetcar. Staff were unfailingly helpful. Bottle of wine and beer in the shared refrigerator.

Another great year of fun at Terrell House and the jazz fest. Have never been disappointed. Enjoyed being in the carriage house off the courtyard. We were there the first weekend, and were blessed with good weather!

I've stayed here many times and have stayed in almost every room. Everyone who works here is helpful and professional. The breakfast is always a treat. I like it a lot better than a big hotel. I've been here with my husband and I've stayed here alone as well as with friends. It's a very comfortable and lovely place.

A very pleasant experience. The house itself is beautiful and well appointed, and the staff is beyond reproach. You are also within walking distance of some nice shops and restaurants. Cannot recommend enough.

Looking for contemporary comfort and 19th century elegance? Convenience a little off the beaten path? A warm welcome and an accommodating staff and even a house cat who lives in a brick-paved side yard? Just book your stay at Terrell House. And save room for the biscuits with sausage grits. Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
