This is a cool hotel. Like others have said, you check in at the bar, they hand you a cocktail, it's very hip. I can appreciate the concept. I was only here for one night, and I kinda went out of my way to stay here because I was excited to experience this newer Marriott concept. I'm a very loyal...

This hotel is stylish and centrally located; the only pluses. There are no closets, only a few pegs on the wall about 3 ft. up from the floor. No drawers at all, meaning you must live out of your suitcase for your stay. Lighting above sink is very poor and not useful for applying makeup, etc. The "ironing stations" located...

Hey there KatW208, First of all, thank you so much for taking the time to come to TripAdvisor and review the hotel -- we appreciate the good, the bad and the not so pretty that you addressed. While we clearly didn't hit a home run with you, we think it is great that you called out the hotel's style and...

Ciera Minor, the Style Manager (fun name!) was very reponsive in retrieving my passport and gettimg it shipped back to me. I truly appreciate her fast and friendly service. Her quick response was the cherry on top to a great stay! Loved the big windows and comfy room. No desk, for those that it matters. I am a laptop -on-the-bed...

A very modern hotel. You check-in at the bar and since we had to wait a tiny bit for our room, we had two free drinks! The room is plenty big. Beds were comfortable, and the shower was great (I hate places with wimpy water pressure. We were only 1 block from Canal St and 3 blocks from Bourbon St....

This hotel was a great choice for my stay in Mardi Gras. It's a new style of hotel, where the front desk is a bar and you get a free drink when you check in !! The staff are very friendly and helpful and we're able to answer my questions about local attractions .They have complimentary snacks that are available...

We stayed for one night at the Moxy to "experience" the French Quarter before leaving on a cruise. The Moxy is s an odd little hotel (in a good way). It is very hidden, not monikered like most other hotels...adding to its charm. There is not offical reception desk, it's part of the bar. It is a hip, fun place...

Enjoyed staying at the Moxy. This was my first stay with Marriott's Moxy brand. They are definitely trying hard to appeal to the younger crowd - check in desk built into a bar, complimentary drink at checkin, hilarious voicemail. Feels like a younger and cheaper version of Starwood's W Hotels; however, also feels nicer than an Aloft. I successfully used...

Clean and respectable. Helpful staff. Full Bar with happy hour. Somewhat safe area a few blocks from transit trolley, cafes, Walgreens, IHOP and Bourbon street. Draw backs: no microwave, refrigerator or coffee in rooms.

Our experience at this hotel was wonderful. All staff was professional and cater to our needs. The location was close to everything we went to stores, restaurants, bars, parade, etc. Our suite was very spacious, comfortable and unique. Also breakfast was delicious and we'll return next year!

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
