I first visited a friend at Quarter House several decades ago. Having lived in NOLA through the 1950s, I was not surprised by the quaint layout of the rooms and of the whole hotel. Now, I think of this as part of the charm of this other-world City. The location, a block into the French Quarter from Canal Street, is...

I was leery as we got out of the taxi. Very small lobby, but a friendly staff. The hodge podge of halls to get to our room had me wondering if I would ever be able to find the room on my own. Opening the door to our combined suite took care of any doubts I had. What a fantastic...

I have never been in a hotel where you had to move rooms after two days of an eight day stay. We were told the owners wanted their room so we were told we would move from the third floor to the fourth floor. We had to be out of the room by 10am., which we did on our third...

I have owned a timeshare at this location for over 10 years and love it. You can walk anywhere in the Quarter and on Canal Street. The courtyard area is lovely and there is a wine and cheese night as well as a continental breakfast one morning during the week. The only draw back for me was some noise in...

This hotel is in a great location for walking in the French Quarter or catching the street car. The front desk were always pleasant and courteous. They always greeted us as we came in the door. Housekeeping staff work hard and do a great job. I loved the quirkiness of this hotel, it was spread out over different levels. Rooms...

Let me preface this review by saying that we got our room through an Interval time share deal, so we paid an extremely good price for our weekend room. The room itself was fine. It had a kitchen and a living room and a room overlooking the courtyard. It was beautiful with the brick walls and chandeliers, you definitely don't...

When you come to New Orleans, location is key, and The Quarter House is in a perfect location within the French Quarter. But, is it perfect? Well no. The rooms we stayed in had next to no natural light, so waking up was rather difficult, the Wi-Fi was extremely slow, the fitness center machines were from the stone age and...

The Quarter House is a sweet little gem with southern hospitality. Customer service is personal and genuine. Friendly staff, they were by far my favorite part of staying there. Accommodation's scream character and charm, clean and quiet. Comfortable beds but not luxurious. Although on a personal note, I felt very boxed in but that's my problem. Enjoy yourself! If you...

We were in room 213 which was a one-bedroom with a kitchen. The bedroom was small being taken up mostly by the king-size bed. The only window in the apartment was at the head of the bed. Why they didn't arrange the bed in a different way I don't know. It had a tiny closet whose access was partly blocked...

Beautiful property in an excellent location of the French Quarter. Quieter street but still close enough to walk to everything you want. It is no so big that you feel lost and the staff goes out of their way to make everyone feel welcome. There are different events planned for the guests if you are interested in Happy Hour and...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.

“We had a sleep 4 unit. Was fine for us, but would of been a bit cozy for 4 people. Kitchen was well stocked, very comfortable bed & great shower. House keeping we're very attentive to our needs. When you consider how old the complex is, it's very well maintained & feels very historic! ”
