We really enjoyed our short stay in New Orleans at the Garden District B&B. We stayed in the Bassetti suite with a balcony on the front of the house. Two large rooms – bedroom and lounge and a small private bathroom just adjacent. The furnishings are warm and old-fashioned – certainly not “smart” but very comfortable. For example, the lovely...

Thank you for your lovely review. Our guests comfort is very important to us. All rooms have adequate temperature control. This particular room has 2 electric heaters plus a large gas wall heater. We are always available to make your stay more comfortable. Don't be shy, just ask.

This was my fifth stay with Raynell and her wonderful B&B. The neighborhood is beautiful and safe and in walking distance to great food and shops. I cannot wait to make plans and book again. Do not underestimate a small cozy experience.

I was a little nervous about this place, because it was so far down on the Tripadvisor list, but it turns out there was no need to worry. Raynelle runs a lovely B&B. The location is perfect: walking distance to Lafayette Cemetery and Commander's Palace and the place is right on Magazine St., which has lots of cool restaurants and...

Great B&B. This was our first B&B stay and we will go back. We stayed in the Patio Room. Private screened porch and patio was great for coffee in the mornings and visiting with friends. Kitchen was perfect size for simple sandwiches (no stove or oven) I did not want to cook on vacation anyway. Bed was comfy, everything was...

My husband and I stayed her for two nights at the end of September. It was our first time visiting New Orleans and it certainly won't be our last! Some friends suggested the Garden District B&B and we are so grateful for their recommendation! We stayed in the Rose Room and it was perfect. You get a kitchenette area with...

Our two night stay at The Garden District B&B was comfortable and a pleasant experience. The Patio Suite is spacious. We especially enjoyed the screened patio and the open patio in the back. The bathroom is small but functional, and that's to be expected when bathrooms are added to existing rooms in older homes. So this was not an issue....

We stayed at the Garden District B&B for three nights over Memorial Day 2015 after reading good reviews. Our son rents a house just across the street, so we booked for the convenient location, too. We both quickly fell in love with the Garden District, especially the awesome area within ten blocks of the B&B. Close to the St. Charles...

The Garden District B and B has been our "go to" place to stay when visiting family in NOLA. The location is great. Walking distance to so many restaurants and shops. The rooms have a nice amount of space. The history of the house has been maintained with some moderate upgrades to bathrooms etc. I particularly like the room with...

This well-preserved old house is in a great location in the Garden District area near good restaurants, funky shops, and trolley/bus routes for easy access to downtown. Our private room was quiet and comfortable (except for the uneven mattress) with a small kitchen for enjoying continental breakfast goodies and coffee before our interesting excursions around the historical area.

We chose this B&B due to its price and proximity to St. Charles (for the parade). It was clean but bathrooms were dated and not up to standard. Breakfast consisted of a Kuerig , a few Quaker bars and some cellophane wrapped breads. For the price it was o.

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
