I was pleasantly surprised when I pulled up to this small and handsome, classic New Orleans style hotel and appreciated the warm welcome I received from the receptionist. This hotel is on a quiet street, near good food and will let you feel like you have landed in the lap of southern hospitality.

I had an incredible stay at the Henry Howard Hotel. I road tripped with my grandfather from Texas to New Orleans before continuing on to Florida. My grandfather has Parkinson's and is disabled. He requires a lot of care. I'm not sure any other hotel would have sufficed in relativity to the Henry Howard. They went above and beyond to...

Hotel is located in the garden district on a fairly quiet street and obviously upcoming street. Our room was on the first floor along the street that faces the corner. Due to the location we did hear a good bit of noise late night/early morning from the street as well as overhead noise in the morning. Our friends stayed on...

We just spent four days/nights at the beautiful Henry Howard Hotel. The location on Prytania St is just at the edge of the Garden District which is great for walking around and viewing the amazing architecture of New Orleans residential areas. It's also just one block from St Charles Street where you can pick up the streetcar into the French...

What else needs to be said? Loved the room, the location, the service and amenities LOVED the 1930s-period elevator. My ONLY real criticism was that the bed was a tad hard, but what else would a period 19th century bed be? Just being in a period design bedroom with modern conviences EASILY made up for it.

Overpriced for what the hotel is -- which is a pretty boutique property next to a parking lot and at walking distance to only a few worthy spots in NOLA. Nice that it's a block away from the tramline. But generally overpriced.

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
