Before we even arrived at the Banana Courtyard, Mary stayed in great contact with me regarding our Thanksgiving Day plans (where to eat, etc.). It was truly a pleasure to stay at their B&B. Rich with history and an eclectic vibe. We all slept like babies at night. You felt safe and warm inside while the city outside kept partying!!...

Just got back from a long weekend with my good friend, & we could not be more delighted with our stay. From the witty, helpful advance guidance to their provision of a fantastic driver, Stanley, who was a one-man welcome center to this fabulous city, to the quirky & exquisite place itself. The Banana Courtyard is a few blocks away...

We so appreciate your review, as we know your compliments come from the heart! Nobody has ever called us a "delicious quirk-fest" before, but we think it really tells people the kind of experience they will have when they stay with us. We want to share with our guests what we love best about New Orleans; whether it's a warm...

This is a quaint & quirky place. The history is really cool, the house was built in late 1800's with fascinating "brothel" history. The whole set up is great, although I'm worried about the structural integrity of this house. The house could use some strengthening of the foundation and walls, it feels like you aren'I'm t walking on even ground...

When I saw the rooms depicted of the Banana Courtyard B&B I knew it was for me. The charm and history of the place along with the beautiful antiques and eclectic collections of interesting pieces throughout the house was amazing! The place was very clean and our room was fantastic. We had the Cannonball room and the bed was the...

Wow. What an eye popping, from the heart review. Will give potential guests a good idea of what to expect. Will share with Mady, since she is one who works so hard to keep everything looking good. We ESPECIALLY enjoyed having your family here. Thrilled that your son liked the hair stylist and price. Ask him to broadcast the word...

This was our second time to stay with Mary and Hugh at the Banana Court. They accommodated our stay at the last minute and made everything wonderful!. This quaint little B&B is off the normal beaten path so it is quiet and still close enough to walk to the Quarter and even better for a very very short cab ride!....

My sisters and I traveled to New Orleans for our annual summer trip. We enjoy staying at B&B's and The Banana Courtyard seemed interesting. When I called the B&B I spoke with owner, who was giving me an overview of the B&B. The room the would accommodate all 3 of us was the room with the balcony. She did explain...

Dear Kelly_Hudler, The location of a B and B can be a tricky thing. For many of our previous and current guests, our location at the edge of the French Quarter is just right. They don't feel like a tourist, but a local, as they shop and walk the streets just like the rest of us who love and struggled...

This B&B is not what you would expect from a bed and breakfast at all. Breakfast is served between 8 and 10 you'll get slices of banana, bagel and toast if your lucky a crossaint, coffee and orange juice. You must call 30 min prior to eating so the toast will be warm. This place is extremly cluttered and not...

My Mom and I stayed at the Banana Courtyard in May of 2016. It was our first time visiting NOLA. We booked a room for 4 nights, but there was no availability listed on-line and so I called to make the reservation. They graciously offered an accomodation that completely met our needs! We stayed in a tiny room that was...

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
