Location is fabulous, however the room was less than comfortable. It is very loud so don't plan on getting good sleep. Not great for families. Our room leaked rain. Our friends' room leaked every time they showered.

I came to New Orleans for work and stayed my first night at Hotel St Helene. It was the perfect intro to the French Quarter. The pool is so peaceful to sit by, so I did a little office work out there. The man at the front desk suggested I eat next door at Napoleon cafe and bar. I ordered...

This hotel was maybe 2 blocks from Bourbon St which is exactly what me and my husband was looking for. Room was somewhat small for a suite with balcony, but it definitely served it's purpose for us! We would stay stay here again!

I made the reservations and paid the deposits for two rooms , meeting friends for a short vacation. They not only have not returned the deposits as they stated they would but they charged my card again for both rooms after they had collected full payment from them for their room. Thank goodness for being able to dispute fraudulent charges...

Nicely updated hotel, but older spring loaded mattress. Excellent maid service and good coffee in the courtyard. This hotel is in a very convenient location and was priced more affordably than others in the area.

Great location in the French Quarter and staff is excellent. Sound travels in this hotel so don't plan on having a private conversation or getting much sleep without earplugs. Rooms are modern looking and housekeeper was excellent. Maybe some rugs or wall hangings would dampen the noise.

A wonderful respite from the French Quarter! Immaculate grounds, extremely friendly staff and wonderfully sized rooms. The bathroom was also especially beautiful and seemed recently remodeled. Thank you!

This hotel is in a great location, on Chartres St by Napoleon House. Our 3rd floor covered balcony (with a table and chairs) gave us views to Canal and down to St Louis Cathedral. Plenty of wonderful people watching all times of day. Close to NOLA, Cafe Beignet, K Paul, and One Eyed Jacks. It is noisy at night, but...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
