Stayed here when I was in town for the New Orleans Poetry Festival, which was at the Healing Center five or so blocks away. The rooms are fairly basic but very comfortable. There is a hot tub, a courtyard, and a couple of porches to chill out. Four blocks from Frenchmen Street, a little further to the French Quarter. Phillip...

We just spent our 5th visit with Philip and David at the Royal Courtyard and have already booked for next year. They are super nice guys and this is a place you can relax and feel right at home (nothing fancy but clean. The neighborhood is quiet but within walking distance of Frenchman St. and the French Quarter. They have...

This is an amazing B&B! The hosts Phillip and David are incredible. Upon arrival we received a warm, friendly welcome and were given a map that included local restaurants and things to see and do. First, the hosts, Phillip and David are warm and helpful and very interesting to talk with. Just great people. The house has all the character you could want, but is also very comfortable. We enjoyed the authentic, historic feel and the porches are great. Last, the location is ideal. You can easily walk to the French Quarter, or take Uber...

The Royal Street Courtyard is an amazing B&B. The neighbourhood itself is amazing. I felt safe to walk even after one (or several) big nights out on the street on my own. It is located about 5 minutes walking distance away from Frenchman Street and 15-20 minutes away from the heart of the French Quarters. So it is a quiet...

This is a beautiful and cozy house...our favorite part being the room opening to a balcony where, each morning, we enjoyed coffee and breakfast while overlooking the quaint Marigny neighborhood. Also, we enjoyed drinking coffee on the porch and saying hello to all the friendly neighbors (and their pets) as they went by. The neighborhood itself was filled with unique...

My husband and I were having our 3rd anniversary trip to New Orleans, and we wanted to stay at a B&B that had charm, great hosts, and was near to the French Quarter. After a diligent search, we decided on the Royal Street Courtyard. I sent an email with the dates we wanted (a holiday weekend) and only a month...

My roommate and I stayed for four nights on a girls trip and it was incredible. We got there and Phillip immediately showed us around and told us about all of the awesome places we needed to visit while we were there. He spent at least 15 minutes just telling us where to go and how to get around. We...

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
