By being at the far end of the quarter on one of the quieter streets, this hotel has several advantages. The rooms were comfortable. There's a charming courtyard in the midst of it with an ever-burbling fountain. Every staff person with whom we interacted was polite, friendly, and helpful. The main downside was that the other guests were often noisy...

Great stay, I would definitely stay again. The only thing I would add is that it took a very long time for the showery to get hot water. Very trivial matter though, but just giving a heads up, may have been because I was on the top floor. Other than that it was fantastic!!!

This was my second stay at Hotel Royal. It is a lovely boutique hotel with the New Orleans charm that keeps me coming back year after year. My first stay was in a balcony room and this one was a standard. The standard had only two small windows near the ceiling so no place to look out and it was...

I would not go back there. First day the room was not cleaned, we asked 2 times to do so they didn't care and no apologies nothing. The next day we had to ask the cleaning lady to do the room, she did... make the bed, nothing else. Plus weird noises came from next room and I'm not even sure...

I was shocked when I arrived. I thought it was going to be this great New Orleans experience. I had to go through an alley, up three flights of stairs, down one across a balcony and up another flight of stairs to my room. No biggie, except they were filming a movie there that night and every thing was wet,...

Staff is definitely why the Hotel Royal should earn more stars than it’s overall rating. Don't expect luxury living. It's an aging old Creole townhouse style hotel built in the 19th century. It has it's aches and obvious pains of age and in need of a makeover and not just lipstick. There is no elevator so if you are not...

Dear Joseph W C, Thank you for your feedback. We have five room types at the Hotel Royal, and only the Deluxe Balcony and Royal Balcony rooms have balconies, a Deluxe Room does not have a balcony, if you want a balcony you need to book a balcony room. Regards,

Don't expect the housekeepers to come by unless you request it. Who knew! When I talked to the guy at the front desk he asked,"well was your do not disturb sign on the door?" As if I have never stayed at a hotel before. Somehow my reservation was also a day longer than my booking, so I got charged for...

We were so pleased with our stay. Cute, close to everything, staff was so nice, and the price was great! I had never visited NOLA before and I wanted something close and comfortable to all the places I wanted to see. Down the street from Bourbon st., fun activities, always music playing. Very pleased with this hotel.

This was the most terrible experience with a Hotel. I have never encountered a place that will not accommodate a customer, take my money for service not provided and lie about our stay. We didn't stay even one night as they wanted to put us in a closet size room, with just a full size bed and not table or...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
