The telephone reservation number on the Hotel website takes you to an external booking company, which charged me $250 in hidden fees, which they failed to disclose to me. (I only figured it out when I compared the total cost of the hotel stay with the advertised price.) I canceled the reservation and booked it directly on the Hotel website. They had a "loyalty discount" which was 10% less than the price offered on Tripadvisor, Expedia, etc.
This hotel is beautiful, historical and centrally located. The staff was great, especially Dakota. He was very accommodating and as a single woman traveling alone I appreciate that. The pool was refreshing and the bar was a good time. The drinks were strong, the bands were fun and the atmosphere was festive. I stayed here years ago and I’ve been wanting to come back. Best decision I’ve made in a while. Thank you!
I stayed at The Bourbon Orleans for one night and checked out today. While the on-site restaurants are not yet back open and while they are not yet fully staffed you would never know it in terms of the hotel itself. Beautiful and very clean. Extremely friendly staff from the doormen to the desk clerks (shoutout to the nice hardworking lady whose name I didn't catch who checked me in and out.) And to the friendly guy (Shawn) who drove me back to the Amtrak station in the shuttle van. Thank you all. I stayed in one of the single queen rooms on the fifth floor overlooking the pool. Spacious, especially for one person. Really the only thing I can think of that I would change about the entire hotel from what I saw would be the shower head in those single queen rooms - nice rain shower head but pointing straight down and would not adjust up. Needs to adjust up more and also that little thing that you put soap in is so close to it that when you lean in to get your head under the water you're liable to hit your head on it if, especially if you're shorter than me - I'm 6 2." P If you are older or have mobility issues, you may want to keep in mind that the hotel is basically a square with a courtyard in the middle with one set of elevators at one corner by the lobby. So you could end up in a room all the way around that square - quite a long walk. I didn't mind this but I can see how that would be a challenge for some. I plan to come back next year in the spring when it isn't so hot and when I can stay about 4 nights. The pool looked very inviting last night and the jazz coming from Bourbon O sounded great too. Look forward to being there long enough to experience both of those as well as the restaurants. Last night I was just staying in between Amtrak trains. Can't wait to see you all again, I have my new go-to hotel in my favorite city!…
I am shocked about the good reviews of this hotel. The only positive of this establishment is the location. Upon checking in the staff was rude , and short. Our room had only 2 towels and it took an hour to get 2 more. The first floor had a break in just down the hall from us. It literally took an hour and a half for the valet to get our vehicle, and they would not tell us where to walk to find our own car. This is not a 4 star hotel. With so many choices please stay somewhere else. Nothing classy or traditional like I hoped. Easy walk to all Bourbon Street and Jackson Square, but I will never stay here again.
What a great place. Room was wonderful, staff was excellent. Special shout to Shawn the shuttle driver, he was cool to talk to about the city, and places to go. Hotel was so close to all the fun places. I loved people watching from my patio.
