Stayed for three days based on the excellent reviews, location, and a good off-season rate. Outstanding feature was the beautiful lobby and bar. Room was comfortable, quiet, and clean. King bed was a trifle big for the bedroom, bathroom was spacious. Free wi-fi worked well. Staff was very friendly and helpful (as is typical of New Orleans). Car valet service...

It's nice clean hotel with polite staff! Enjoyed the room and Aveda products... Rooms smelled good. Like the bar and entrance and front desk. Very quick with bringing car around. Complementary coffee at lobby was nice too. Great location. Very close to everything in French quarter.

I'm a design guy and appreciate a classy, thoughtful hotel interior. I find that many hotels in new orleans are cheesy and kitschy. International House is sophisticated but still invokes the spirit and culture of new orleans. it's stylish and comfortable. Aside from that, the service is perfect. friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. They truly understand the importance of customer service....

A nice hotel that reminded me of many of the boutique type hotels I have encountered when travelling in Europe Very eclectic and mindful of it's own unique personality. It is an older property that has been treated with care to maintain it's character. No flashy showy kind of stuff, but opened doors, grand entrance and a very unique bar...

On our family's recent visit to New Orleans, we stayed at the International House. We chose the hotel based on other TripAdvisor reviews and its proximity to the French Quarter. We found the staff to be welcoming and very accomodating throughout our stay. We were given a corner double room which was spacious and nicely appointed. The bathrooms were a...

I like so many waited until the last minute to get a hotel in a big city of New Orleans during a Shriners Convention. To my surprise on Hotel.com I recevied the last room and it was the low low price of $83.00 per night. I knew my heart the hotel would be trashy, when I opened the doors to...

My wife and I took a short three day vacation to NO and chose the IH for it's location, star rating and price on Expedia. It was a wonderful choice! We had booked a windowless Rock Star room, but none were available upon check in. We were given a regular queen room with a window facing the front of the...

Great time and experience at IH. I booked through Orbitz and got a great rate. Small room but newly updated and nicely furnished. Bathroom was very large. Just a stroll from the French Quarter and all the action but perfectly out of all the chaos. They have a great bar with famous bartender that unfortunately I missed. Staff very friendly...

I love the International House Hotel! It has the perfect mix of modern opulence and down home comfort that you would come to expect in N.O. The rooms very very clean and the staff friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel (and its awesome bar - LOA) to anyone looking to visit The Big Easy!

This was our first time visiting New. Orleans so we wanted to stay as close as possible to the French Quarters. This hotel is literally minutes from all the main shops and attractions. The room was very modern and it smelled fresh and clean. The shower was huge and just the best I've ever been in :) Valet parking service...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
