Our team was at the hotel for a 3-day conference in April. Everyone had great rooms (updated, clean, well-appointed) and the lunches served at the conference were fantastic. What you really need to know about is the staff - they were so incredibly helpful and friendly. Lobby Supervisor Shonta Phillips resolved a billing crisis with our business office, and she...

Very large conference hotel located on the edge of the French Quarter. The location was excellent. It is located within a stepping stone of the French Quarter but not surrounded by the chaos of the Quarter. The hotel was close to the trolley and bus stops to get to other areas of New Orleans ( Like the Garden District and...

The hotel's location was convenient and most of the main streets were in walking distance for food and attractions. They have a beautiful pool area and a decent gym with cardio machines as well as free weights. The concierge service was also very helpful and accommodating. They made our dinner and ghost tour reservations, too. While my husband was dealing...

At check-in, I was offered upgrades at half the price since I was a gold member. Thought this reflected good training and marketing. Also read about the ongoing renovation on tripadvisor and requested for a renovated room. There are 2 towers - river and quarter view, and I got the former Upgraded to a large suite and it was ok....

The hotel is in perfect location - just minutes away from Bourbon Street and Riverwalk. It's clean, reasonably priced. I have absolutely no complaints, and the only reason why I'm not giving it 5 stars, is because it's just another Marriott! We stayed on the 19 floor and had amazing views of the French Quarter.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
