Stayed here for a few days while at a conference. Beautiful lobby, helpful staff (thanks for tip about d.b.a.), amazing location! Hotel restaurant was ok for a quick lunch between workshops, but you HAVE check out some of the restaurants in the area! Wow! Room was clean but but I have experienced better at lower price point. Perhaps the premium...

SingingOT, Thank you for letting us know about how much you enjoyed your stay with us! It's great news to hear that you experienced such great help from our staff and that you loved the catering for your conference so much. We're also glad that you were able to visit some of the excellent nearby restaurants! The French Quarter is...

We arrived on a busy Saturday, earlier than anticipated (around 10:30 in the morning) and hoped we could check in, but minimally hoped we could store our luggage. The front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. She had a room ready and let me know we were in a recently renovated room, which surprised me as I booked it...

Recently attended a Business Expo in NOLA. The location was within easy walking distance of the Convention Center and on the EDGE of the Quarter. Rooms were clean and quiet. Ask for upper floor facing Mississippi, views great.

Afternoon Woey from New Jersey, Based on your review, sounds like you had a great time in the Big Easy. I'll pass along your complement to the housekeepers about the clean room and our security folks about the quiet the do such a good job of securing. Your mention of the proximity to the French Quarter is key. Best restaurants...

Very well situated on Canal St by Bourbon St and the French Quarter. Lovely staff and Service despite it being full because of the Thanksgiving/ Bayou Classic weekend. Would go back again next time in NOLA. We were on 9th floor and no problems with noise.

I previously reviewed this hotel as a drunken mess, which is still largely true. I stayed again here and found the service to be very good and my 31st floor room had a great view across the French Quarter and other parts of New Orleans. My visit was during a quiet time, so the lobby wasn't quite as, well, sloppy...

Hey David, thanks for taking the time to post a review. As General Manager I take the good and recognize it ("service very good") and the bad (make sure order is maintained with a full complement of officers) and do something about it if I can. Charging for parking is one of those things I can't change for obvious financial...

This is a lovely property a couple blocks from the French Quarter and several blocks from the convention center; both easy walks. Remodeled rooms are great; small but all you need. We'd like to return when the new Executive Lounge is completed in 2015. For your money, this is a fine place; great restaurant; lovely restaurant staff and excellent service...

My first trip to New Orleans required a reliable, quality hotel at an affordable price. The Marriott delivered in some respects. It's a large property that has obviously been remodeled in the not-too-distant past and outside of the awesome location (which is a comfortable walking distance to almost all of the great restaurants and bars that the city is known...

Hey Bruce, OK, I'll give you that the streetcars are pretty cool, authentically NOLA; but, not return to the New Orleans Marriott, I can't agree with that at any price. Kidding! It is a very nice hotel. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Hallways are a tad dated, but it doesn't effect the quality of the experience. Beautiful views of the Mississippi River. Could really stare out the windows all day and night. Very convenient location in French Quarter. Great location. Will definitely stay there again.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
