There was no safe, carpet was torn/worn, view of roof tops for first 2 days. Moved to "renovated room" for last 2 days. Safe didn't work, bathroom door wouldn't close. Location was convenient for convention center and view of canal street! Better!!

The New Orleans Marriot is conveniently located near the French quarter. I stayed here for a 4 day conference at the convention center. The hotel staff was pleasant and helpful when asked. The room was a typical Marriot room and the cleaning staff kept it well maintained. It was a large hotel but was well staffed and organized. The open...

It's a big hotel and they do operate efficiently with crowds but boy do they need to get an attitude makeover. From dirty amenities in the room to slow food service to bellmen who think you owe them it's a frustrating place. When problems are pointed out they offer all sorts of apologies but why have so many issues. The...

I had a 6 day stay for a conference here and was pleased to have a true Marriott experience. Check-in was quick and efficient and when a room change was requested, was handled without difficulty. Our initial room was a corner room with a view, spacious and comfortable. As with many older hotels there was a lack of outlets for...

This is a typical big city Marriott. I only stayed here because of a meeting I'm attending, but there are many better places to stay here. The rooms are very small and somewhat dated. However, we can see rooms in the adjoining tower that are being renovated. They look like they are almost ready for occupancy. The bathroom is small...

I had read so many bad reviews about this hotel that I almost didn't book here. I'm so glad I didn't listen to them. The room was spacious, clean, and in very good shape. Everything worked like it should. The bed was comfortable, the water hot. The pool was fantastic, the staff so friendly and accommodating. Yes, it did stink...

This was your standard chain hotel. You know exactly what you're getting. Decent room, decent location but lacks that personal touch with the masses of guests and few staff members. I couldn't tell you about payment because it was done as a part of a sports package but I'm guessing there are cheaper alternatives around.

I stayed here for a conference and got a lovely room on the 20th floor of the newly renovated River Tower. The room was so 'new' that the toilet occasionally flushed automatically, and the bathroom taps protested by gurgling and spitting when I first turned them on every day. Shower pressure could have been better. Beds are comfy, views are...

I've stayed in quite a few Marriotts lately and this one was surprisingly outdated and in need of an upgrade. It appears that it was in the first batch of the last upgrade. Came to New Orleans recently for a conference and stayed at the Marriott on Canal street. The best thing about this hotel apart from the very friendly staff? The location! Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
