This hotel is very nice. It was built in the 60's and has all the modern conveniences, while still maintaining that New Orleans charm. It's in the heart of the French Quarter, located next to the Supreme Court of Louisiana (which is a beautiful building itself), and very close to Bourbon Street, Jackson Square, Johnny's Po' Boys and the original...

Great room with a great view. superb room service with friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast in the Rib Room was excellent as well as the drinks. Everything was in walking distance that we wanted to see on Bourbon Street. Al helped us with our luggage and was extra helpful with directions and other information. THANKS AL.

Old storied hotel that has never lost its class. Very friendly. guest oriented. Clean. Famous retuarant (Rib Room) and lounge. Close enough to business district via short cab ride or public transportation.

Perfectly located in the heart of the French Quarter, yet quiet when you want and need it. The staff is outstanding, oozing that delightful New Orleans charm at every turn, always with a smile. My room was comfortable and quiet, although I have had a room that was on the "street side" and there is often music from street musicians...

Cay, Thank you for writing such a wonderful review about your recent stay. I am glad you were able to enjoy everything the Omni Royal Orleans has to offer. We are lucky to have such a great vantage point from our observation deck. It is certainly the best way to view the French Quarter. Please come see us again soon....

Unwilling or unable to make drinks correctly. Gin and tonic should not be made with soda and then insist that nothing is wrong. Rooms were small and bathrooms were cramped but the place was clean and well maintained. It was very well located to the Royal Street and Bourbon Street experience. The breakfast buffet was good but very pricey.

My stay was very enjoyable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a business hotel and a pleasure hotel. The staff at this hotel were very accommodating and helpful with site information. This hotel is close to most of New Orleans historical sites and great restaurants.

Nice and quiet and only one street off of Bourbon. Certainly not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. I have stayed a lot of places in New Orleans and this will be my go to from now on. Valet was easy and friendly and the on site restaurants are excellent.

I booked two rooms here via Expedia. I wish I'd booked directly with the hotel because I probably could've ended up with rooms with better views for the about the same price. We were overlooking an under used courtyard type area. The desk staff (and staff in general) were friendly and helpful. They provide an old school hotel customer service...

We arrived late on Friday only to be told that they had overbooked the hotel...bummer right? But it's how you are treated afterwards that a customer never forgets. My wife and I were whisked by cab to the Royal Sonesta, another great hotel right on Bourban just a couple blocks away. We were comped the first night at the Sonesta...

We stayed in a King size Deluxe room & it was very nice. We loved the whole atmosphere of the city. From our room we could hear the violin street musician playing and it was awesome. The concierge and staff were very helpful friendly & honest. My husband lost his wallet a short distance from the hotel on the sidewalk...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
