We stayed here the night before a cruise. It was our first visit to NO, and we were pleased that it was very easy to get around from this hotel. The St. Charles streetcar is 1 block away- just on the other side of a small building that adjoins the hotel's parking lot. The following morning we found the streetcar...

I've stayed at the Prytania many times over the past 15 years - with spouse, sisters, daughters. We used to stay in the Quarter but found the PP when we were looking for something less expensive. The hotel is a group of historical buildings. Rooms are small with a European flair, clean and decorated in an eclectic mix of contemporary...

This hotel was friendly, we stayed at Prytania Park. I will only tell there is a vast difference in accommodations, ours was not nice, quaint here only means dirty, hot and uncomfortable 😞 I will say that the ONLY redeeming qualities was the bed and the nice front desk people. If you choose this place make sure to ask for...

pros: cheaper than other hotels in the area, good location and free parking. cons: thin walls, small tvs, free breakfast isn't that good (very small selection), no elevator if your on the 2nd or third floor

Just finished our third stay here and it is still a great value. We had a triple room with a sofabed downstairs and a queen in the loft. The spiral stairs to the loft might be a bit of a challenge for those with mobility issues, but it wasn't that bad. It certainly maximizes space and provides some privacy and...

Stayed for one night. Loved the location, room was okay. A little outdated but for the price and location I would recommend. The contential breakfast was a plus before hitting he road. Took Uber to Frenchmen Street and had a wonderful evening listening to music and people watching. Of course, food, food, and more food while in New Orleans.

This was our second time choosing this hotel. They have a great package of free cruise parking if you stay two nights. So we took advantage of that. The location can not be beat. It is a block off St Charles and the trolley and has quite a few bars and restaurants in walking distance. It's not near the Quarter,...

This place, is one in a chain of Garden District Hotels. The office space is small, yet ample to conduct business. we arrived early and was readily able to assume the room. You pass thru a narrow walk way into the court yard area. Once within a room, the ceilings were 12 feet high, with white-walled, open faced bricks. The...

We have stayed here twice. The location is great. The streetcar is one block away on st Charles avenue. The staff is very accommodating and the continental breakfast is what it is. There are plenty of great restaurants nearby.

This was a gem of a find and at a decent nightly rate as well. We stayed in one of the queen loft suites with our two daughters. They were so excited to go up the spiral stairs and sleep in the loft they didn't even try to sleep in our bed. I also enjoyed my early morning walks around...

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
