The Sheraton Hotel did an outstanding job of balancing the many demands of this week! We were there for a hardware buying market. The Mardi Gras parades started while we were there; plus, the NBA All Stars stayed there as well! Add in the Queen's Ball and the women's collegiate golf tournament! Everyone at the hotel was most accommodating! Always...

We ended up staying at the Sheraton for a concert. It also just happened to be NBA All Star Weekend and during Mardi Gras. When we got to the hotel it was awesome. It was getting there that was horrible. All kinds of streets were blocked for the parades. Here's my complaint. When you called the hotel to ask how...

Very nice hotel. Check in smooth. Service was very good. Excellent location. Clean, comfortable rooms. Checkout smooth. Nice view of the city. Best to request room away from elevators as they are very noisy.

My wife and I were at this hotel recently for a business conference combined with a bit of a couples retreat. The room was good, not exceptional. Housekeeping staff members were very pleasant and did a good job. Check-in was slow but not terrible. Bell staff members were exceptionally good with one very unfortunate exception. Our group meals were excellent...

I stayed at the Sheraton hotel for a business conference in February. The location is not only safe (especially for a women traveling alone) but convenient for walking to where you need to get to as well (i.e - I went to the French Quarter area every evening for dinner). I stayed on the 26th floor. Could hear sirens and...

Thank you for your review. We are delighted that we exceeded your expectations and that our prime location, stunning views, gracious staff, delicious food &beverage offerings and state-of-the-art conference facilities enhanced your experience. We apologize if you found our hi-tech elevators a little noisy and we appreciate your comments about the trash containers on meeting room floors. That is an...

The Sheraton is on Canal Street in the middle of the busy area of downtown New Orleans. It is about two blocks from Bourbon Street, a few blocks from the river and lots of local shopping, restaurants and bars. The lobby has a large bar with two story windows to see the street, which is always full of passersby, traffic...

This has been a great home away from home. The rooms are nice and clean and the amenities are great. I especially appreciate how big the gym is. Easy to get in and get a great workout done. Staff is great and eager to please. It's also very close to lots and lots of stuff to do.

We stayed in a handicap accessible room, which was RIGHT NEXT TO the elevators. No joke - there are the elevator doors in the little nook off of the main hallways, and our door was adjacent to the elevator. However, this hotel has the elevator system were you punch what floor you want (instead of the up or down buttons)...

Clean upscale hotel with a great location to the French Quarter. New meeting rooms for conference. Very modern up to date amenities. Nice sundries shop but a bit expensive for my tastes. Less than five minute walk to Bourbon Street. Would definitely recommend.

We have stayed at this hotel several times. The location is really great--steps from the French Quarter, from a streetcar stop, and just a few blocks from the arts district, including the wonderful Ogden Museum of Southern Art. It is a big giant Sheraton, made for hosting conferences (my husband attends a recurring conference there), but service is pretty good...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
