In town for a wedding several of us booked a few nights at this hotel. For us it was conveniently located between the French Quarter and the Garden District area where the wedding took place. Hotel appears to have been recently renovated but my wife...More
Very well located between the French Quarter and the Arts District, adjoining Lafayette Park, and right on the Trolley Line. Staff were very kind and helpful. Several wonderful restaurants were also very close.
My wife and I took an anniversary trip to New Orleans, so it was important that the accommodations were specially prepared for the occasion. I called three times in advance to ensure that there was a bottle of champagne in the room when we arrived...More

Hotel is puzzled by this review - believe guests may have stayed at some other hotel. Lafayette routinely delivers champagne, gifts special services to guest rooms. All 3rd, 4th, 5th floor guest room windows are sealed closed with no hardware, no balconies. Think maybe other...More
We stayed at the Lafayette for a business trade show, and I have to say it was a great experience. We checked in late after driving in from Houston (6 hrs usually, but 9 with traffic) and the staff was so great; friendly and very...More

Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts
District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.

The Lafayette Hotel only has one main entrance and it does go through the lobby. The hotel also has a parking lot located directly across the street from the hotel. Guests can reserve rooms that have street-side balconies by calling the hotel or visiting the hotel’s website. I hope this helps!
