Monteleone has a fantastic location on Royal Street. I've been to NOLA several times and have never been this close to the French Quarter, it made a pleasant difference in all our sight-seeing but it is pricey. I may have chosen somewhere more affordable if on my own but I shared a room with a friend. The rooms were very...

We stayed here as a family of four in the heat of July. We were so grateful of the roof top pool although it got very crowded and littered during the afternoons. Our room was ok, basic, clean - noisy air con but we needed it! The staff were all super friendly especially the characterful guys on the front door!...

Great Trip!!! I had a lot of fun. I hope to come back really soon. Thank you again for the great service and friendly atmosphere. I do feel the surveys are way too long. I think they could be shorter by a good amount.

We checked in on a Friday to spend Friday and Saturday nights to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We arrived early and checked in at the front desk. A room with a view was not ready yet, so the front desk gave us two coupons for drinks at the Carousel Lounge, by the way is fantastic. The room was great....

Of course this is a lovely French Quarter hotel with history. However the stars are the people- service is personal and thoughtful. Our visit was a busy holiday weekend that could have been chaotic- it was smooth and efficient. Special mention for the garage valet staff, especially Earl, who handled special requests with southern graciousness. The bedding is luxurious, the...

If you want to be close to all the action, this is the place to be. The hotel has a heated rooftop pool, a gym, the carousel bar and Criollo restaurant. The lobby area is always bustling with guests or patrons of the restaurants and can get a bit loud. The employees are all great, with folks ready to help...

We had a great time staying here during January college break for a few days with our son. We got a preferred double room, which had two double beds and was a bit larger than a traditional double room. The front desk person let us have the room when we arrived at 12 noon, which was nice after traveling. The...

Hotel is amazing with victorian decor. The carousel bar is a true gem to find! The location is excellent with walking distance to french quarter and bourbon (if you choose to go) :) They even give you a free drink in the bar when you bring your coupon when you get a drink.

We were visiting Tulane University and only needed a hotel for one night. I am so glad we stayed at Hotel Monteleone. We loved the history of the hotel, the many authors who stayed here, the circular bar that actually rotated, the stories from the bartender, and the valet, Earl, who has worked at the hotel for 50 years. All...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
