We stayed 2 nights with some friends in the Hotel Mazarin and we loved this hotel PRO : - Location : If you go to N.O. for the fun, as most of the visitors do, this hotel is the right place. Just a few yards from Bourbon street, but still a little bit far away of the noise. Perfect place...

This lovely, romantic hotel's location and its beautiful courtyard became our oasis in the madness that is Bourbon street. It's 1/2 block away from the craziness, but close enough to view from our balcony without having to be right there in it!

The service was impeccable from the moment when the bellman met us as we parked our car until we checked out two days later for a wonderful weekend stay. There are two good bars and music in the hotel and the French Quarter location is perfect for local bars and restaurants - or quick trips to Frenchman St., Faubourg Marigny,...

Loved my stay here although it was quite pricey towards the end. There's no privacy in rooms with connecting doors. You can hear everything. I could even hear the fountain outside. The breakfast staff were the only ones not friendly

You won't find a better place to stay, sleep and dine for your money. Conveniently located in the heart of the French Quarter. And the buffet breakfast each morning was delightfully good. Probably one of the continental breakfasts I have ever had!

I visited New Orleans on a business trip and I was hoping to find a quite place where I could also work in the room. The room was small and has no desk to work. The bathroom was spacious and nice. The bed was comfortable and there were lots of pillows. The location in the French quarter was very good...

Beautiful boutique hotel surrounding a courtyard covered by luscious ficus trees. A great place for weddings/receptions for sure. Our room was first class all the way-- well appointed, tile floors, modern bath. Don't miss their two bars, Bar Vin and 21st Amendment. Great, professional mixologists. Exquisite property.

The hotel was nice but the room was located across from a neighboring hotel's garage entrance. Traffic throughout the night was terrible. Unable to sleep at all. Wish we have known about the noise....

Close to Bourbon, but without all the noise and crowds. Loved that breakfast was served late, so we could sleep in and not worry about missing breakfast. Was able to walk to the Convention Center during the day (20 min), but still be in an area where my wife was close to shops and attractions while I was away.

Excellent hotel with character. Nice spaces and places, warm and helpful staff. Perfect location between Bourbon street, if that is your thing, and Royal. Near good restaurants and the Canal Street transportation.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.

“We had a room with a small balcony, on which we and our friends played a game of cards before nightfall. We were able to watch a pre-Mardi Gras parade from the balcony. While the accommodations were pleasant, there was limited closet space and not much space for toiletries in the bathroom.”
