Absolutely loved this place. Just like taking a step back in time. The room was very clean and well maintained. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The bathroom was small but more than enough towels and it was very clean. The beds were very comfortable. The wifi service was excellent. If you are looking to get away from the...

If you are looking for luxury look elsewhere. However, if you remember the days of the old motor courts and want an adventure, this is the place for you. I was immediately impressed when the first thing the owner said to me was, "Do you want to see the room?" That does not happen! The rooms are small and the...

We spent 2 evenings at the Chalet. The rooms were very clean and had nice furnishings. As the name implies, they were small but on our trip we did not spend much time there. Both evenings we the there, guests mingled outside the cabins. Very " Mom and Pop" style. Certainly recommend it.

If you are looking for a high end motel with pool and gym, then look elsewhere. These little cabins are older, that need a little repair here and there, but they are clean and the price is right!! Karen and Vern are the most friendly amazing people. They love to visit with you and are willing to help out anyway...

Having spent well over $100 for the previous four nights, when we were quoted $70, we grabbed it in an instant. This was a Saturday night and at other times, rates start from $57. And although no breakfast was included, it still represented fantastic value for money. The chalet had two queen beds, a shower and toilet and an A/C...

This is our 3rd time at the Chalet Motel. We go back in a heartbeat. Karen & Vern are awesome. They love what they do and socialize with the guest. The rooms are clean and well taking cared for. It is just on the outskirt of Custer. We will never stay somewhere else. We are sad we did not look...

The little cabins are small but clean and ours needed a little repairing here and there. And the bed needed to be replaced -- the plastic on the bed kept coming off and it was slanted with your feet higher than your head. But, not only slanted it was dipped in the middle so you rolled into the center of...

The Chalet is another one of those Mom and Pop motels that I love. Actually they are cabins. We had cabin #2. It was clean and well maintained. The bath is on the small side, but not a big deal for us. The TV and wi-fi worked well. The owners were great and provided us with towels to clean our...

They put me in a small room #11 and I noticed everything was there at a very reasonable price.. The facility looks great with pots of flowers outside every door, and very well painted and presented. While the parking lot is more suited to motorcycles than cars, I made it fine in my Tahoe. Amenities were standard, but dated a...

My husband got to SD a little before scheduled and needed a place to stay that wasn't over-the-top expensive. This place was very reasonable, managed and cleaned by the owners. The place was so cute, clean and quiet and we really enjoyed our stay here. I would recommend it...
