A group of 8 of us stayed here and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. As mentioned in past reviews, the hotel manager Marei is very helpful and friendly, and helped us with transfers. Her staff are also very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was vert good and everything you needed to be set up for a days ski-ing. Whilst the basic standard rooms were slightly dated, the comfort rooms were large, with very comfortable beds , pillows and duvets. We used the sauna and steam room and they were perfectly adequate, with robes, towels and slippers provided. The hotel was also spotless, with the rooms, facilities , breakfast area and reception all very clean and well maintained. Whilst there is no bar in the hotel and no option for dinner, this is not an issue given the numerous bars and restaurants close by. I is also around 8-10 minutes walk from the cable cars (or a ski bus stop is 50 metres or so away.) Given the price, location , cleanliness and excellent service, this hotel is a fantastic 3 star option and I would have no hesitation staying here again next time I am in Mayrhofen.…
I was travelling with 5 friends for a budget ski weekend when we discovered Maria Theresia, and it turned out to be absolutely perfect! Communication with the hotel before our stay was super efficient and that was extended to a super warm welcome on our arrival. Marie the manager and her staff couldn't do enough for us - they made our stay very enjoyable helping us with guidance and local knowledge when arranging ski passes, booking restaurants, etc. The rooms whilst basic provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The breakfast was lovely and set us up nicely for a day on the mountain. In addition, we had pleasant surprise of the great sauna & steam room facilities which were great for recuperating. All i all a super ski weekend - Thank you!!!
We spent 10 nights in Mayrhofen as a family group of 16 people. Marei the owner makes you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. The breakfast is great and sets you up for the day. Staff are very friendly and efficient led by Marei. Would definitely stay there again and highly recommended.
Staying at this hotel is a total waste of money and a journey back to the seventies of the last century. Furniture has not been replaced for at least 30 years. The service is very unkind and rude. The bathroom and the entire infrastructure should be thoroughly modernized many years ago.
We stayed here as a family of 3, we came skiing with 22 other friends who were staying at different hotels in Mayrhoffen. We were so impressed with Maria theresa hotel, it is spotlessly clean. The rooms were spacious, cleaned every day and lovely and warm with lots of space for storage and hanging clothes plus a good quality hairdryer supplied in the room. My daughter was in a single room and she had been upgraded to a deluxe room and was next door to us. Breakfast was perfect for us to fuel up on before a hard day of skiing, Good choice of cereals, lovely fresh breads, selection of cheeses, scrambled eggs, bacon, juices and teas and coffee. The staff are so helpful, on our checkout day, we realised that we had booked the wrong date for our taxi return to Munich airport and the lady on Reception could not have been more helpful, she was so concerned, she was brilliant and rang a local taxi firm for us to book a local taxi to take us back there and then. A big thanks for her concern and attentions we may have missed our flight without her help. I'm glad that we only booked bed and breakfast - our friends stayed at a large hotel in the centre of Mayrhoffen and they hated the food that was included in their half-board accommodation. We thought that the restaurants locally in Mayrhoffen were all really good. We caught the courtesy bus to the Penkenbarn Cable Car only once towards the end of the week when we were especially tired, but the walk into town only took us about 7 minutes anyway and it wasn't a problem for us to walk anyway.1st time Ski-ing - Absolutely loved it. We Would definitely return. Felt like Mayrhoffen was such a friendly and safe place to come to be. We didn't use the sauna facilities or the bar at the hotel except to get a coffee on the first day. You have to pay for Wifi, unless you sit in Reception and get free wifi in that area.…
I stayed here with a group of five friends. It's the perfect hotel, off the main thoroughfare but beside a bus stop to take you to the Penken. Great choice of buffet style breakfast and all staff extremely friendly and happy to help. I stayed in a single room which had a great view of the mountains and all facilities you could hope for.
These place served as the second hotel for our stay in the Zillertal valley. Rooms were super nice (especially the shower) and the staff was very helpful. We had a comfort room and it almost felt like a mini suite. Other perks are the breakfast location; close to town and the bus/train station so it was super easy to catch the ski bus up to the Hintertux. Couple minor dings for the hotel would be some of the surplus charges: we asked about a late check out, and despite our room being available for one, the only option was to pay for half the room rate to have it until 5pm (no free late checkout til 12:30 or so as is often the case at other hotels). When we asked about using the spa showers after skiing since late checkout wasn't an option, it was 10 euros per person. I understand charging these things to random people, but for having stayed at the hotel for a couple nights, you'd think a shower could be looked past. Finally the wifi is pretty expensive. These can probably be chalked up to different country norms, but I feel our other hotel was more generous in these little items.…
Had a very good time staying here for a ski holiday. Hotel is not in direct centre of town but is short walking distance from all the restaurants and bars and is a short (and free) bus ride to the main Mayrhofen cable car (Penken). The hotel rooms (stayed in a deluxe single) are nice and spacious and the amenities are all fine. What really made this a great stay was our host - Marei. Always around to help whatever the hour, all recommendations spot on, always giving great service. Prepared a made-to-order take away breakfast for us as we had to leave before 6am. Although there are ~30 rooms in the hotel we felt like we had our own personal concierge. Breakfast is good but standard. The sauna was great to end the day with. Never tried the bar. WiFi is for a fee. Would stay again next time in Mayrhofen.…
I recently traveled to Austria to ski the breathtaking Alps near the lovely village of Mayrhofen. I lodged at the Hotel Maria Theresia for 9 days. The price of 70 Euros per night was very reasonable for a private/single room that was both clean and comfortable. The hotel staff was helpful and friendly. The morning breakfast was perfect and got my day on the slopes off to a great start.
This is a lovely hotel just off the main road in Mayrhofen so it's quiet at night. The staff go out of their way to make sure your staff is perfect. Rooms are a good size and nicely decorated. Great views from the balcony
