I had a fantastic time staying here. Very cosy and the hosts were amazing! They made me feel so welcome 🙂 The location is great, close to both penken and ahorn lifts. I would highly recommend staying here!
This Pension is wonderful. Family run, incredible breakfasts and the loveliest hosts! They couldn’t do enough to help us and make our stay special even though we were working. The rooms are traditional and have lovely balconies. The dry room and snowboard and ski storage is amazing even with lots of heated boot racks. It’s really convenient for the lifts and also beautiful mountain views with the penken gondola going over the house. We’ll miss Maria and Heinz. X
We stay here for 3 days and we had a really bad experience. Stefan, the owner is a dishonest and unkind person. He told us a lots of false things and at the end he asked for more money respect the first offer. The place is really uncomfortable and dirty. Find another place to stay!!!! He ruined our holidays.
Great Austrian hospitality and good location for skiing and hiking, yet close to center and Zillertalbahn. Breakfast is very good and has every day small nice surprises. The hot chocolate is made with secret recipe and is the best we ever tasted. There is a kitchen for guests to use, which is very practical for making some snacks.
Excellent family run bed and breakfast. The rooms are clean, spacious, comfortable and Austrian. The owners are extremely friendly and the breakfast is a typical Austrian family breakfast served with care and personality. We are talking homemade marmelade and juices and sometimes even homebaked bread. Well situated and unusually affordable, nothing fancy. A common kitchen, that can be used by the guests whenever, is well stocked and with a good dining room. It is so easy to recommend this Guesthouse.
I would definetily stay again there.traditional house with big rooms.nice dry room for snow staffs and amazing breakfast.maria and her husband is the best hosts and the pension is near everything but quiet.the village of mayrhofen and the alps is a dream!recommended for sure!
We had a very nice stay; the rooms are traditional Austrian style pension rooms. There are some practicalities that make a ski holiday very convenient: good location near Penkenbahn, a kitchen for guests with pretty good equipment and a dryer for ski shoes. The hosts Maria and Heinz are very warm and helpful persons - and the breakfast they serve personally beats any luxury hotel breakfast. Try especially the creamy hot chocolate prepared by Heinz, the Best in the World!!!
Gästrhaus Sanna is worth a stay. The Hausefrau Maria is very sweet. She don't talk much english herself, but enough to get around. Very nice stay we had here. Good breakfast for the price. A fine shared kitchen in the basement and also space for skies and a boot warmer. A little walk to the lift/Mayrhofen centrum - only around 5 min. This Gästhause is worth a stay and Mayrhofen itself is a very nice town in the winter.
The owners, Maria and Heinz, and their daughter Andrea, were extremely kind and helpful. (I won't restate the information provided in the other "excellent" reviews.) When Maria found out I had a few years of American middle school German (45 years ago), she gently, patiently, but firmly induced me to remember some of it. This is a real family operation where you feel the pride they take in making their guests happy and comfortable. The Zillertal is an exceptionally beautiful part of the Alps, and as we were leaving my wife and I agreed that we hoped we could return to stay at Sanna. Danke schon, Maria.
We stayed at the Sanna for the Snowbombing festival, we chose this based on location (only 5 min walk to Main Street & the Gondola) and price as other hotels are so expensive during the festival. We were pleasantly surprised as although the decor is very traditional and quite dated, it was very clean and the couple that run it couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. Our .package included breakfast as well which was really good, fresh drinks/bread/cheese/fruit etc. if you're on a budget and going to be out & about so don't mind basic amenities (no tv, wifi, bar, lobby) then this would be fine.
