Booked this on the same day for a group, and was really pleased with how things turned out. Rooms were huge, clean and all had balconies. Reception had closed by the time we arrived, but the owner left the keys out for us. In the morning, the breakfast was a good quality buffet. Free parking right next to the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, so I'm surprised by some of the other reviews here. This is exactly the sort of mid-range hotel you expect to find in an Austrian ski resort. Would stay here again. Only downsides were no wifi and it doesn't take credit cards. Location was great, just a short walk from town and the lifts, but in a nice quiet area.

The only OK thing i can say about this hotel is that the location is close to both lifts but this is not a big deal as you anyway better off taking a bus or a train to the near by slops. Here are the problems we encountered: 1. there is no one in the reception. you can only get help during a 1 hour time slot from 5PM to 6PM. so if you need towels, keys, toilet paper or just ask a question, your on your own. 2. the breakfast is really basic and starts late (7:30PM) so if you want to catch an early run and have a decent breakfast, forget about it. 3. the rooms are really old, so are the bathrooms. 4. the ski room is not heated so get moist equipment in the morning 5. they supposedly have solarium. it was always closed and as mentioned above you can ask anyone to open it. bottom line, for the same price or even for a couple of euros more per night you can get much much better. this hotel is really below any reasonable standard.

Stayed here for a weeks snowboarding in Mayrhofen. Situated a short walk to both penken and ahorn lifts. Rooms are good size and with decent showers. Breakfast was traditional, with bread rolls, cold meats, cereals etc. The hotel is clean and well kept for a 3* accommodation. Only negative point is that reception is only open 1 hr a day. Would have no problem staying here again.

On arriving at 9 at night, the hotel was all locked up and no one there to great us, had to ring a number on the door to get someone to let us in. The room was lovely, very big, clean and two big double beds, plenty of wardrobe space and cupboards, TV, and nice bathroom with shower. The sauna was not working and they had no intension of fixing it till end of season, so worth checking to see if they have bothered. The lady operating the breakfast area was extremely frosty and unhelpful. And there was no hot water on our last day, and again they did not seem to really care. Shame really as the hotel is very nice to look at, good sized rooms etc, and the balcong was nice I know it is only 3 star, but they were straight on our case for the 1 euro 20 per day per person for tax!!! But no where to be found when you needed them.

My friend and I stayed in this hotel from 29.01.11 to 05.02.11. Our goal was snowboarding, so we weren’t going to stay at the room for a long time. Some words about location of the hotel. There are 2 main slopes in Mayrhofen: Ahorn and Penken (which is bigger in order) and so 2 main elevators (Ahornbahn & Penkenbahn). The way to Ahornbahn takes about 7 minutes and to Penkenbahn about 10-15 minutes, because hotel is situated on the edge of the Mayrhofen, but the town is small so it wasn’t a great inconvenience for us. Rooms were cleaned every day except Tuesday (if I remember correctly it’s a houseman holiday). In room it was a small fridge, TV, balcony, battery, many sockets. But (a small surprise from administration) no soap, shower gel and shampoo which you should buy! No claims to breakfast: normal, ordinary food for the 3-star hotel, I was amused by the size of the breakfast room for such chamber pleasure-dome. Reception worked 1 hour a day from 5 to 6 (p.m. of course) and if you had something to discuss with the administration, you should plain your day as appropriate. In our case it was a very palpitating theme for consideration and now I come to the main problem – safety. I took the board and boots for rent in Mayrhofen and in hotel there was a special skiroom where you could stay your skies or boards and dry boots. In one of the mornings I found out that my boots were gone. This fact hasn’t captured the attention of the hotel and I was recommended to visit police. Need to mention that skiroom is accessible during all the day by everyone without any control except 1 hour, when someone has been sitting in the reception. It means that the doors of the hotel and skiroom were never locked even for the night period. It was also no reaction from the administration when 2 days later my snowboard was gone and skies and board of the other guests. And when shop asked for compensation for the stealed equipment I was sure that all losses would be covered by the hotel. But it emerged that hotel doesn’t take responsibility for any things left in the skiroom and doesn’t even have an insurance of stealing (as distinct from majority hotels in Mayrhofen) and refused to pay. So if you will visit Mayrhofen for skiing think twice before stay here because you belongings would never be in safe and if something would be stolen the hotel wouldn’t compensate it.

Large rooms, location okay, service hmm - there were no handsoap at the toilet, when we asked roomservice about, we were informed that soap was not included, there is a first time for everything, this was the first time I experienced that handsoap in the bathroom was not included in the rent. Breakfast was not that great, and hotel reception only open late afternoon. Parking was free - and overall it was quite okay for the rate we payed.

I was there in August but definitely winter is the best moment to visit the town. I have to room apartment with 4 beds. This was not the high season but there was some guest. Breakfast was really impressive and selection of food quiet wide. The town is small but the view over the mountain is impressive. Friendly atmosphere with limited access to the reception which was closed in the check out but everything was OK without any problems.
