What a lovely place run by lovely people. This place was perfect for our needs - a group of 5 friends - all 30 somethings. Their email correspondence was useful, timely and friendly. The place is really good value too. Yes there are posher hotels in mayrhofen with high end facilities, pools, hot tubs, etc, but you pay double or triple the price. This place outperforms its price tag with genuine friendliness, attention to detail, local knowledge, convenience and stress free holiday. Rooms great for our needs. Functional, Comfortable, clean and characterful without being unnecessarily flashy. If you need to be wowed by a hotel room...you're doing skiing wrong!! But there is also a lovely well maintained spa area, ski room, bar, etc. I'd return here in a flash. I know they'll do all they can to help me have a great holiday. Thanks team!!…
Exceptional, Thomas and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. Made me feel like family. Superb room and excellent breakfast. 5 Min walk from the lifts. I can not recommend enough. I will be returning.
Excellent hotel, we have just arrived back from a really good 7 day ski trip. Group of 10 of mixed ages and abilities from 12 upwards. We originally had our flights cancelled with Thomas Cook which Neilson dealt with brilliantly. Food very good, rooms and suites really clean, warm and spacious. Service was great from all the hotel staff, massive thanks to Bobby, Meg and Daisy for being brilliant all week, absolute class. Resort good for all skiing abilities, bit of a walk to the lifts but bus stop is 5 mins max and they take 5/10 mins and are really frequent. Taxi to Zell also good day out for a change of scene..5 euros each way, door to door-20 mins. First time to this resort, plenty of bars, shops and restaurants available for getting out and about, only 10ish minute walk from hotel. Ski hire, transfers, passes etc all very smooth, being able to leave your skis in boot room at the hotel at the end of the week really nice touch. Nice little spa area in the hotel which few of the group sampled and enjoyed. Would definitely recommend this hotel and Neilson.…
Everything was just great! From the pick up at the airport, to the collection and returning of the skis and the wonderful hospitality. All the staff were so friendly, helpful and nothing at all was too much trouble. The standard of room was really good, lovely view up the valley. Food, well what can I say? Super breakfast-all English or you can choose part of it, porridge, a special each day, continental too. Coffee machine available all day. Afternoon tea, cakes, home made biscuits bread and jam from 4:30 to 5:30- perfect for unwinding after a day skiing. The evening meals each night were very good indeed. No choice for the starter or dessert, a veg or meat choice for the main, but everything was delicious- well presented. Could'nt fault it at all. Dietary requirements can be catered for. Compliments to the chef. Lots of local wine to drink, which was actually good! The walk to the bus, by the Spar shop, was about 5 minutes, walking slowly. From there catch the E bus to the Penkenbahn, or C to take you to the station or Horbergbahn. Timetable is on the bus stop. We didn't walk to the Penkenbahn in our ski boots, but doable! We really enjoyed the two quiz nights in the hotel, a lot of laughter. We were taken by taxi to the Green Room where we could pick up our skis. Then a taxi back. On the Friday the skis were collected from the hotel. This was a fantastic service. Thank you Nielson. When we go back to Mayrhofen, this will be the place we will stay again.…
Our party of 15 arrived on January 25th to a very warm welcome. The chalet is quaint yet spacious with very nice clean bedrooms and a cosy bar area. We had a wonderful week with great food and some fantastic skiing. Mayrhofen is a large ski area and the Hintertux Glacier is only a short bus ride away. I highly recommend both. A great week had by all. 🎿
Absolutely fantastic service. The hospitality of the staff is second to none. Amazing experience. Clean, very hygenic and food was top draw. Cant wait for my return in 2021. The staff cant do anymore to make you feel welcome and offer outstanding service.
I was the organiser of a group of 15 who stayed here last week (aged 40ish to 70ish). We all thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at the Ferienhof, huge credit to Cassie, Bobby, Chris and all the staff, a great team who all worked to give us a fantastic stay. It's our second Neilson holiday, but the first time in years we've not been ski in or out. The location was really good, some of us walked each day, with skis to the lift, which was under 10 mins. Others took the bus, no one bothered to get a locker. The whole area is very well connected with buses and trains, and the skiing was really good. We all loved the guided sessions, which is one of the main reasons we chose Neilson. Would be great to have more than 2 each though. Luckily it seemed most of the guests were all pretty experienced skiers, so we saw a LOT of the area with Matt the guide. The hotel was a very good standard, and very quiet overnight (an issue we had last year!). The rooms had loads of storage, I shared room 201 with 2 other adult solos, and we were impressed to each have our own wardrobe. The room layout worked really well. Beware Austrian Twins if you're not too keen to get close to your room mate, but we knew about this from previous holidays. The food was a very good standard, with 4 veggies and 1 dairy free veggie we were all well catered for. Everyone could chose the veggie or meat main the night before, I enjoyed every meal. Cakes at 4.30 were very welcome, not the best we've had but yummy just the same. And the free flowing wine with dinner was very good too. The only thing I could say is that there's no real space for gathering other than your allocated table, and a couple of small tables in the bar area. A comfy seating area would be great, but there's nowhere to add that! And a bit of a shock that the bar, and table area were all closed on Chalet night off, we would have like to play cards on our return. The boot room is the first we've stayed at which is locked, which was a good bonus in a town. I enjoyed the sauna area an used it a couple of nights before dinner, pity the steam room only worked on the last night, but loved it when we did get in there once it was fixed. I'd happily recommend the hotel and Neilson to others. We enjoyed the evening events, disco bingo could be done earlier in the week to encourage mingling in the evenings!…
Just stayed for a week, great welcome, all staff do an excellent job. Food was good. Had a 2 hour guide and instructor for the first 2 days which was free!Ivan our instructor with SMT was great. Would definitely recommend
We are here at the moment. A party of 9 of various ages from 13 to 69. The welcome was lovely. The staff are really attentive to everyone's need. The food has been lovely. Everyone is trying to make our stay great and they are achieving it. Yes it's all Brits at the moment and yes it's Neilson. It's my first time with this company on a ski holiday and we would definitely come again. The ski lift is about a 7 min walk from the hotel. The village is quite large and has a varied amount of shopping.
Just back from a Neilson Winter Break in Mayerhofen. The hotel is entirely run and staffed by Neilson and their attention to detail shows. Nothing was to much trouble and accommodation is clean and comfortable. All the guests are from the uk out for some winter fun. A very family atmosphere. Although Mayerhofen village is low the ski slopes are high being reached by cable car so snow is virtually guaranteed.
