Stayed for 4 nights this past week with my son. Very friendly staff, nice comfortable room and excellent food. Easy stroll to Ahorn and Penken lifts. And close to the Bruck for apres ski. And hire your kit from Ian at Rent for Fun opposite Penken lift and you can leave your kit there overnight.
This is the 2nd time we have stayed here - loved it 4 years ago and loved it this time! This property is owned and run by a father and his two sons (Gerhard Sr & Jr). Their son Ben is the chef and the food is great!!! Breakfast and dinner are included in the price. The father & other son do everything else. The service is personable and friendly and it is in an excellent location to walk everywhere. The hotel is an incredibly beautiful town called Mayrhofen - it is so picturesque and there is lots to do. We stayed there in June this time & October before. I am sure it is beautiful in the winter when it snows too but that is a bit too cold for us.
Little has changed since our last stay, hotel is comfortable, staff friendly and food great. The quiet location is a boon if resort is busy, it wasn't week of 26th march but with Snowbombing having sold 6,000 tickets this year the Laendenhof will be a quiet oasis from the High Street madness this week! :) Oh, and the skiing was awesome as always. Looking forward to our return next year.
Very friendly hotel, great staff. Good location 8 minute walk to the Ahorn lift and 10 to the Penken. Very quiet pretty location perfect for family stay. Food was excellent, good selection buffet breakfast, choice of evening meals, Very popular restaurant in the evening so gets busy which gives it a good vibe. Staff work very hard! Lovely spot nice terrace to have a drink in the afternoon with beautiful view of the mountains. Good size quiet rooms. Great hotel thank you to all the staff for a great stay.
16 of us stayed there, most in hotel, some in nearby apartments. Third time we have stayed there to go skiing. Rooms comfortable and clean, food good, staff friendly. Location canny. Highly recommended.
Just out of the town centre, walking distance, near Ahorn Lift. The usual Pension style Hotel. Arrived to be told one of the rooms was not ready but that was ok, we were early anyway. We took a walk to town and had lunch and eventually went back to be shown to a room next door to the "Boot Room". it was stinking with cleaning smells and was in no way the room we had booked. The staff stated the room we had booked was double booked so this was what they had left (We booked early last year?) to cut it short, our friend was lodged in an apartment a few houses down from us for two nights until her room became free. Even then we do not believe it was the grade we paid for as it should have had a mountain view. Breakfast: Continental but could order eggs and bacon etc. I asked for two fried eggs, they came burnt on the bottom. I scraped the top off and carried on. Second day the same thing but worse. sent them back, at the same time our friend who had ordered boiled egg, started off looking good but the bottom of it in the shell, was raw! how can this happen? the third day another half raw boiled egg, I didn't bother asking for fried. The continental was very reasonable however. Evening meal: Choice of three mains, starter, salad and desert. these were in general, pretty good however on the Saturday before leaving there was no choice, Pork or Pork, which three of us had on the night before. SMOKING at the bar: We found a couple of places did this but for this reason we did not stay in to any extent. None of us smoke so this was a no-no. Staff: Girl serving us in the morning looked as if she did not want to be there. Maybe she was nervous but a smile barely cracked her face the whole time. The other staff seemed reasonable. The owners son was at least friendly which Is more than I can say for his father whom, I think, took a disliking to us from the moment we arrived and complained about the room.…
If hotels were rated on staff friendliness, service, professionalism and warmth of its welcome then this fantastic hotel would be amongst the best hotels in Europe. A random selection after a late-break ski trip with my little brother we could not have been happier with our selection. The hotel is located up a hill on the edge of town but a very simple 8 minute walk to the Centre for ski lifts, shops and restaurants. The staff and quality of the food made our trip extra special. Half-Board was not high on our wish list but I am SO glad we did it; the choice, variety, atmosphere and service in the restaurant was nothing short of first class. Thank you team. The room was spacious with a lovely terrace overlooking the town and the mountains. It was very modern, clean and looked newly renovated. Our only observation was that there were no chairs and we would have liked extra pillows! (I’m sure we could have asked for extra pillows but we didn’t!). The wellness area was a lovely feature and beautifully done (European style) a great feature and perfect for relaxing after a day on the mountain. We fully intend to return in the future. Compliments to the chef, restaurant staff and indeed everyone who made our 4 nights very special. In summary a charming Austrian hotel deserving of much praise.…
Dearest Father and Son! And The team! Thank you so very much! For making people happy! You work so hard))! Thank you again for hospitality and so nice atmosphere in the restaurante! Kind regards, Lyubov
I said in this nice family run hotel with a group of 9 friends for a 3 nights. It is a nice little hotel and very good value for money, we had dinner bed and breakfast. The food was very acceptable. The resort and skiing were also good, and very good Austrian value. It could do with a few more sophisticated bars and restaurants.
We stayed here on a skiing holiday over New Year. We are two families, one of 6 and one of 4. The hotel has a variety of room sizes so could accomodate us well. Positives *Good location, only a five minute walk, down past the river, to each ski lift. *Lovely rooms - traditional in style yet not dated, good quality furnishings etc. *Great ski bus service - always on hand to drop you off when you are ready (though it really is not far to walk). *Very high quality of food and the hotel were very accomodating with the children, making them alternative meals where necessary. Areas for development *This is a smoking hotel. I got the impression from previous reviews that it wasn't but smoking is allowed in the bar after a certain time. There is not a smoking ban in Austria and smoking is common but we've never had an issue with it before in hotels in either Zell am See or Scheffau. I did report that our room smelt of smoke and the hotel did try to address our concerns and provided us with a scented oil burner. In the end we just got used to it and did not let it spoil our holiday but I don't think I would have chosen this hotel if I had known. *No coffee and cake in the afternoon. Every skiing hotel we have ever been to have always had a warm drink and snack available in the afternoon after a day on the slopes. They hotel did have a cold salad buffet avaible but it wasn't quite the same. *No lounge area. Once we'd eaten we either sat on the smoky bar or went to bed. There was no alternative seating area. The children just wanted a game of scrabble etc. and a couple of times used the seating areas in one of the rooms. The staff tended to sit around the bar in the evenings and we didn't feel particularly comfortable joining them so it was usually early nights all round as the smoke is not ideal for the children. All in all we had a good holiday. It is a lovely, family run hotel but the smoking was an issue for us.…
