Cozy quiet house in Mayrhofern, run by the most friendly host, Maria. The house is very beautiful and well decorated. My room was small, but extremely confortable, quiet, with a modern bathroom and amazing unblocked view to the moutains in the room balcony.
Had a wonderful stay. Maria was so helpful and made us feel very welcome. The place is spotless and extremely comfortable. Had a wonderful room with lovely views. In a nice quiet part of the town. The breakfast was excellent. We will definitely return when we next visit Mayrhofen.
My Japanese friend and I spontaneously decided to go skiing in Mayrhofen and found the guesthouse Hornegger as a suitable accommodation for us to stay. It turned out to be an amazing decision because we didn’t only like the location and our modernized room, but especially loved Maria, the owner, who is a great host and made the best breakfast.
Stayed with 4 pals for our annual girlie trip away. What a lovely find. Rooms were lovely, spacious & immaculate. Lovely view from my room 10 Cleaned every day. Bathroom was one of the best I’ve had in this style of accommodation. Breakfast was perfect for us. Lovely meats, cheese, eggs cooked to perfection. Good quality coffee and loved the little touches of sherry or hazelnut schnapps. Sweets given out every morning to take with us. The lady owner was so friendly she really looked after us. Even waved us off on departure. I will definitely choose to stay here again when next in the area. Can’t recommend this place highly enough
Just come back from a wonderful short break at Gastehaus Hornegger. We received fantastic hospitality from Maria who wouldn't do enough for us. The guesthouse is immaculately clean, the bathrooms have been refurbished which were lovely. Our rooms were small but well thought out and modern. Breakfast was plentiful and varied, we enjoyed the giant flat screen TV silently showing the mountain webcams and what the day ahead had in store. The location is ideal, a short walk to the Scotland Yard & Piccadilly pubs and good restaurants, a little further and you get to the main street and the Penken lift. My only suggestion would be a mirror in the bedroom would be useful. Ultimately Maria made our stay, what a lovely lady, so much so we felt compelled to send her flowers after our stay to say thank you, the first time we've ever done that! Thank you Maria, from the 5 English ladies.…
Comfortable bed in large room, newly renovated bathroom, quiet area close to everything (walked from train with bags) with views and good hearty breakfast. Highly recommended! Thanks for your great hospitality, Maria.
we hade the best time. Maria was frendly and helpfull . the room was clean and comftarbel nice breakfast. not far from the center and the lift we did not use the bus but it is very close we will be back
Lovely visit and staff were lovely. Shame it didn't have a bath. Couldn't fault the staff very attentive. Even tried to help me when I was ill. Very sweet. Fantastic breakfast. Would be nice if tea making facilities were in room. Def recommend it.
My mum and I stayed for 4 nights. The rooms were super clean with nice and new, modern bathrooms, the breakfasts were perfect, and the staff were really friendly. Also the location was nice and quiet, but within easy walking distance of the penkenbahn and the train station. The ski room also had a heated boot rack! Would definitely recommend.
This is a 2 star guesthouse in a quiet and beautiful setting, spotlessly clean with plenty of hot water however the sheets had sewing repairs and the towels were from the 1970s. The rates charged per night are more than those of a three star hotel, we had a nice room for 4 nights at 90 euro a night and then a very small, hot attic room for 9 nights at 84 euros per night. The breakfast was dreadful, most items are from the Spar budget range-diluted juice, fruit juice from concentrate in cartons, triangles of cheese, yoghurts etc-all of which are cheap and nasty. There were 3 cereals muesli, cornflakes and another, all of equally inferior quality. When the muesli was a quarter of the way down it was topped up with the Spar budget range muesli which had chocolate pieces and coco pops in it ,so we resorted to buying our own!The owner has her own slicing machine which she uses to cut the cheese and ham on the transparent setting. We could hardly get the cheese off the serving plate onto the bread. We were given a boiled egg every daywhich was repetitive after 13 days, scrambled egg would have been out of the question.I had chronic indigestion which got progressively worse,I wondered if it could be attributed to the brown bread being stronger so asked if I could have white instead. We were then reduced to one white bread each, when we asked for more we were accused of already having had a brown bun that morning, dreadful. The plums were covered in white mould one morning and a multitude of small flies. We were served cheap processed meats and long life liver pates despite telling her that we didnt eat the same. The coffee cups were small and the coffee pots only contained enough for one and a half cups so we resorted to asking for a pot each.Everything was begrudged and we begrudged every euro of the cost. There was certainly no fond farewells and we would definitely not recommend…
