We booked a week in Mayrhofen with Crystal Ski. It was around £750 / person for flights and hotel half board. At that price we didn't quite know what to expect. The room we had was in a seperate building from the main hotel but there was an underhround tunnel to take us to the main hotel. I've seen some reviews complaining about this so was expecting a seedy tunnel that smelt of urine. In actuality it has pool tables, fussball table, video games all down there. The bit that actually goes under the road is a little chilly but still not at all bad. At the other end of the tunnel you have the spa and the warm room fro skiing / snpwboard gear. Our room was nice, really big with a corner balcony (huge), a king size bed and a seating area, big bathroom with a waterfall shower. The only thing that would have made it better was perhaps a fridge and warm drink making facilities. Also, twice we were disturbed by the cleaner who knocked so gently and then let herself in. The food is great. A large breakfast buffet with everything you could ask for. Tip: Breakfast stop at 10:00 but make sure you go before 09:30 or there won't be much left. Dinner is amazing, 6 courses - apperitif, soup, salad, main, dessert and cheese. The staff are lovely, all in all a great stay and we wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Stay here for the first time in my 36 visits to Mayrhofen, what a great stay in the Hotel. The Staff were very good and friendly. The room I had was very good. Breakfast was very nice indeed , could have spent the whole morning eating the wonderful choice for breakfast. The evening meal was also just as good as breakfast, salad to start with, then a starter, choice of 2 soups, and 3 choices of the main meal and a nice dessert to finish off the meal. If you were still hungry, you could have had cheese and biscuits.
There was a nice Lounge bar to relax, with live music on from 8.30pm. The Hotel is in the quite part of Mayrhofen, near the railway station, so you got a very nice sleep, waking up refreshed for the next days skiing.
The spa area was fantastic, a family area as well as a adult area.

Fantastic hotel, great service. Good location, right next to the train and bus stations, it is possible to get to all mountain trails in the area. Super spa area, with an indoor and outdoor swimming pool and a large garden where you can relax in the shade of trees, sunbathe on a deckchair and have a drink (waiter service available) We stayed in a junior suite with a wonderful view of the garden and the Alps. Well, but unfortunately there were disadvantages: 1 / It was difficult to swim in the pool, because the pool was occupied by children all the time, and they jumped into the water near our heads, despite the ban. 2 / The hotel is non-smoking, but you can smoke cigarettes on the balconies. In the next room there was a family, where 2 people smoked cigarettes on the balcony all afternoons and evenings. As a result, instead of alpine air, we inhaled the stench of cigarettes. I believe that hotels should take care of the comfort of all guests and smoking on balconies should be prohibited.

We stayed here as part of a Tui package. The room was comfortable and a small problem was resolved promptly. We were slightly alarmed when Willy started his evening entertainment- our balcony was just above and posters claimed he sang every evening until 11.30pm. Thankfully, Willy stopped at about 10pm during our stay so not too intrusive. Our great disappointment was the quality of service from staff which was often surly and sometimes rude. The most shocking service from the reception staff. Dining staff seemed very unhappy in their work and this made mealtimes stressful. There were exceptions and Alexander and the delightful Spanish waitress worked hard to ensure guests felt welcome. This is a hotel of two halves. The newer part of the hotel, closest to the food buffets, looked lovely. Unfortunately, we were in the furthest dining room which meant quite a walk to collect your food and return to your table.

We would return to Mayrhofen but would not return to this hotel which seemed to treat some guests with naked contempt.

Stayed here as part of a TUI packaage, but didnt really have much contact with TUI, but then didnt require it either.
Checking in was fine, and being shown to your room was a nice touch, we had paid a bit more for our room and were rewared with a room with famtasic view over the garden , pool and mountains. Shower over over bath was better than most hotels. In general room was clean and tidy. There balony was large and private. used the pool a couple of times and was a great way way to cool down after a days walking.. But be aware there is no shallow part, its 1.8m deep all the way across. Didnt use the spa facilities. The selection of cakes in the afternoon was a good, but could have down with a coffee to go with it.
There were a few things that let this hotel down. The shampoo/body wash in the bathroom was empty all th etime we were there. We made use of the fridge in the room with a few cold beers, and used the glasses supplien in the room, but these were never cleaned.
Breakfast was fantastic, everying you could possibly want.
Dinner should have been good, 5 courses of reasonable standard food. But the service was appalling, waiters couldnt decide who was meant to serve us, so didnt bother at all. Some evenings other guests had to point out we had been waiting 20 minutes or more. And when they did, made out they were doing us a favour.Once we were on our third course before we could get a drink. One waiter made jokes about the British to german speaking couples (yes we understood the jist of it)& Insisted we ordered in german, we would happy have done so but as the menu was purley in. English was difficult to do so. We ended up timing the service to pass the time. worst was 2.5 hours. Certainly missed out on alcholl sales as no one asked, more than once..Thankfully towards the end of the two weeks , we were allocated a new waitress, who was much better.
Relaxing in the garden in the evening could have benifted form being able to get a drink, could only seem to get one if we sat around the front in the entertainment area, order adrink and take it back.
Reallly wanted to like this hotel, it has so much potential, but service was so bad it would stop me going again.
Go to Mayrhofen its great, but maybe not this hotel. Passed my comment to TUI, but received no reply

I stayed in the annex of this hotel when skiing and ate in the main hotel.
The annex was a mix of very small single rooms or slightly larger twin rooms.
Clean but very, very basic. Rooms had half baths which were a health hazard when you had to get out from a higher base, potentially very dangerous.
I ate in the main hotel in the area which seemed to be reserved for English speakers. The most basic area compared to the modern area for other guests.
This was either a choice of the hotel or our tour operator paid a lot less.
Food was very average with slow service due to the lack of staff.
Location close to train station so good for accessing other areas.

Nither my friend or I were skiers but the Neuhaus Hotel was a fantastic base for sightseeing trips - walking on the mountains and journeying by train to places (It is situated close to the railway station where helpful staff are available.) The food is very high quality and the dining room staff are really 'on the ball'. Rooms are spacaious and very comfortable. Cleanliness is obviously given high priority as is comfort. There is a Bowling Alley and a Swimming Pool as well as a Spa for many treatments. This hotel was worth every penny.

The building itself is lovely. Very nicely decorated and rooms are big and clean. The spa area is fantastic!
However, the dinner service let's the place down. It is so so so slow and frustrating. The portions are tiny and all very bland. To get a drink charged to your room seems impossible, even though they can do it easily at the hotel bar. We had a week of half board but we chose to dine out in town twice, just because we were getting too stressed at dinner time. The other evenings, we mainly ate from the salad buffet, which is nice.

The hotel staff was always very rude and abrupt (apart from one of the ladies at reception and the massage lady).
They don't offer you coffee at cake time, you have to order and pay for it. Coffee! It's petty! They also charge you €2 deposit for your room key card. Again, petty! And €2.5 for tap water. Tap water!

We stayed in the apartments of the hotel, which seemed to be one of a number of annexes to the main building. Our accommodation was fine, fairly basic, but clean, serviced daily, good shower and perfectly adequate for us on a ski trip.
We were half board, and therefore crossed the street into the main building for our meals. The restaurant seating was in a number of different rooms and, as seems to be usual in Austria, we were allocated one table for our stay. The breakfast buffet was well stocked with all the usual breakfast items and of good quality, but from the table in our allocated room it involved negotiating 3 blind corners, so each morning involved numerous near misses with either us or other residents carrying hot drinks and other items. Certainly good practice for skiing moguls later though.
The evening meal was mainly table service apart from the first buffet bar salad course. The food quality was generally decent but let down by the service, which for the main courses and drinks has been hugely erratic and in our four nights so far we have had highly variable and often long waits between courses, drinks and meals requested not arriving and wrong courses served. The system of ordering one course at a time is odd and does not seem to help- we have stayed in several hotels in Austria where the service has been exemplary and either menu choices made in the morning at breakfast or at least starter/main at the beginning of the meal.
The hotel cannot do much about the topography of its dining areas, but it would be nice if they could look at our comments and many similar here in these reviews , and review their service to diners. The staff have not been unpleasant or rude to us, but neither have they tried to establish any kind of rapport (language is not a barrier to this) , but this is one big factor that often makes all the difference between the rating a hotel receives.

Another lovely stay in the Neuhaus. We were in the St Josef annex as booked, with a lovely room with balcony overlooking the bus and railway station. Ideal for monitoring train arrival for trips down the valley and only 2 min walk! Also only a short walk across to the main hotels for meals. The tunnel was good for when raining or going to the pool. Breakfast among the best we have had in Austria and the table d’hote evening meal was of a very high standard with additional ice cream and/cheese for desert if required. Not to be missed were the afternoon cakes. Charge for tap water is a bit annoying but standard in Austria, but to counter the staff kept our wine and water bottle for the next night without asking. All in all an excellent week and we will be back.

Movie bar is just next door and owned by hotel. Failing that there is a Sports bar on the main street no more than 10 minutes walk away. Hope this helps.

Hi. No I don't think they would get bored at all. There is a kids playground in the garden with swing, slide, zip line etc plus indoor and outdoor swimming pools. The garden is huge with loads of sun beds and swinging seats. Inside there is bowling, table tennis, pool. There is a cinema attached too but we didn't use it so I don't know if they show films in English or not. There was only one choice of kids meal a day. I had it one day because I didn't like the adult choice and it was actually a bigger portion! (Fish fingers). Check out the Zillertal Arena at Zell am Ziller (a few stops down on the train that goes from right outside hotel) there is a 'coaster' ride (sit on a tray with brakes and whizz down the hillside... Your kids could sit on your laps). GREAT fun and if you go on the cable car to the top there is a massive kids playground. Great fun at top of Ahorn mountain too.
