We have just come back from a fantastic week in Zell am See in Austria and we could not have been happier with our stay at the Pension Altenberger. We had one of the two rooms at the top of the Pension, with amazing views over the lake, even in the cloud and rain when we arrived. Our room was...

We booked the room via BedandBreakfast.eu due to the good reviews there. Unfortunately, as we arrived, the experience was not as good as we thought. The room was completely outdated, furniture from the 80s probably and very worn out. The ceiling in the bathroom shows leaks from the higher floors. The whole place is covered in really untidy carpeting and...

The Pension is located on the high side above Zell am See. I enjoyed my stay very much. The apartment was clean, modern with all the necessities, including free Wi-Fi. A good selection of bread rolls, yoghurt, juices, cold meats and cheese with coffee and tea was on offer for breakfast. It was just perfect eating breakfast on the sundeck...

I had a wonderful few days in Zell am See cycling around the area. The Pension Altenberger was perfect. The apartments are spacious and comfortable. It's so nice and quiet up on the hill and what an amazing view of the town and lake! The mother-son team are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. I can't wait...

Our family, 2 adults and 2 children 8 and 10 years old,  spent 1 week at Altenberger in the apartment "Hohe Tauern". I can warmly recommend Pension Altenberger. The apartment is really nice and newly renovated. A very well equipped kitchen with microwave, dishwasher and espresso machine. Everything was very well thought out, large and spacious closets and towels all...

I stayed on a couples skiing holiday, and the room was brilliant! We were on the top floor and enjoyed beautiful views of the lake. The pension is well signposted throughout the town so managed to find our way, although we arrived for check-in late. Liselotte was extremely welcoming (she put a free glass of wine in my hand before...

The hotel offers a great view of the lake, it's just a couple hundred metres from the centre of zell-am-see so you don't have traffic and noise, but you're still only 5-10min walk to the lake. plus it's a bit up the hill so every room has a big window and balcony facing the lake. last but not least, it...

Firstly to all travelers....SatNavs will send you out of town to number 27 Dr. Muller Promenade...A woman helped us and seemed unsurprised by our questions...also we met a german couple looking the Penion next door to ours - her SatNav giving the same directions...Signage is confusing to humans and SatNavs alike! So...when you get into Zell (coming from the E),...

We stayed at Pension Altenberger for a long weekend from 9th March. Our host was extremely helpful and the room was spacious, well furnished and very clean. The view from our balcony was incredible looking over the lake and it was quiet and we enjoyed a good breakfast. Recommend flying into Innsbruck rather than Munich which we did as the...

“If you are planning to stay here, hire a car! the walk up to the pension is difficult with skis (although you can hire a locker at the lift station- good idea) and taxis cost up to 10 euros just to go up the hill. This also gives you a chance to explore surrounding areas with ease - Kaprun is beautiful.”
