The family-oriented Alpen Resort lies at the foot of several cable car lifts and is placed ideally for exploring the mountains. The half hourly and daytime 71 bus takes you down to the town in about 5 minutes. The bus is free if you have a ski pass or about €2.50 one way if you don't. Alternatively it's about a...

This was our first skiing holiday for 2 years and we wanted a hotel with charm, amenities and reasonable sized rooms and we were not disappointed. We had room 212 which looked out on to the slopes and ski lifts and had plenty of space with wardrobes (almost unheard of in some ski resorts), a free safe, 2 comfortable chairs...

We returned last week from 7 days all inclusive at the Alpine Resort. Upon arrival we thought the greeting at the main entrance from the family chocolate labrador was a good omen and we were not disappointed. The hotel is chalet style but once inside its like a homely tardis. There are lots of features which blend traditional old family...

We arrived at this hotel and were immediately impressed. The rooms were perfect, well furnished with a lovely bathroom and we had a lovely view looking right onto the slopes and the mountains, we could see the Gondola's going up the mountain each morning, it was picture perfect. Food and service was brilliant, buffet food was delicious and well cooked...

After reading other reviews on here I had some reservations about the hotel (we booked an all inclusive package ski holiday with Thomson). I needn't have done, it was fantastic. Our room was very spacious, comfortable and spotless. It was actually nicer than it looked on the website pictures. The food quality was very good - the buffet dinners were...

We stayed here for a week at the end of January with Crystal. Many aspects of the hotel are fine. The location, standard of the rooms, dining facilities and lounges is good. The food itself was also good but it was in relation to the provision of water that we found a major downside - 500ml of tap water costs...

We decided to go for a week’s skiing after Christmas 2013 and through the New Year period – which we thought would be a good way to end 2013, and it was. Deciding on Hotel Schwebebahn wasn’t… This 4 star hotel is definitely one of ‘two halves’ - some things are quite ok for a hotel of its grade, and...

My initial experience with this hotel is not as good as I would have hoped. My partner and I had arranged a 'comfort package' with our travel agent which included a balcony and mini-bar. There was neither in our room and when I pointed this out to the receptioniste who spoke no English, she referred to her manager who had...

We returned from this hotel on 7th September, having travelled with Crystal. My Mum and I were travelling with my seven month old son and chose the hotel because it looked very child friendly. The hotel is located about 2km uphill from the centre of Zell am See. We liked the location as Zell appeared quite busy and crowded. With...

“Rooms facing south west at the back of the hotel are great for watching activities on the slopes and look out on to a couple of the black runs.”

“We were in an attic room at the rear of the hotel (room 309). Views from these rooms are of the mountainside and they get the morning sun. The garden immediately below has a pond and small terrace. I grew to love this view. The front of the hotel has balconies but in my opinion the view of the ski lifts and car parks and the town in the distance are not as attractive as the rear facing rooms. However I dont consider any views a no no.”
