We had an inkling it would be good but in our naivety, we hadn't realised quite how good. The setting is spectacular and the food and wine to die for. Anne-Marie and her team are the most fantastic hosts creating a relaxed and enjoyable ambiance. They have found their vocation and luckily, are delighted to share their little slice of...

We caught the cable car up from Sankt Johann and decided to walk down and decided to stop for a beer. The place is just above the middle station for the chair lift, the views were stunning. First impressions were good with a good atmosphere and loads of room. I decide I needed the toilets, so went searching, the place...

This an excellent family-run hotel within spitting-distance of the slopes and chair lift. We have skied in this resort (OberGurgl/HochGurgl) some 16 times, and this Hotel is absolutely the best: ambiance, friendliness, facilities, convenience and particularly the cuisine. The whirlpool after a day's skiing is a special delight. One small niggle: now with under-floor heating, there are no radiators, so...

Our family visited Angerer Alm this summer and had an experience we will never forget! We missed the 4pm arrival time so had to drive up the mountain. Having done this a few days before in Liechtenstein we thought "no problem". We simply weren't prepared for our GPS giving us bad directions, the signs referring to distance in minutes and...

We spent two wonderful days here in the summer, and wished we had more time. The welcome from Annemarie made us feel like part of the family, and the staff here could not be more helpful. It is the most beautiful location and there is plenty to do in the area. Accommodation and service are top-class and the cuisine is...

What a great hotel and restaurant. For me it was a great experience in every way. I would love to return. The hotel only has a few rooms but mine was very comfortable and very clean. Bed was super comfy. It has rustic charm and I was a little apprehensive about the shared toilet and showers but in the end...

Angerer Alm is really excellent and a 'must' if you are in Tirol, Austria. Annemarie and her team are top class, friendly, mwelcoming and go out of their way to make a nice mountain experience for the guest. We hiked up from the valley, which was about 2.5 hours hike. At the alm we had a tastey lunch and superb dinner...

The Angerer Alm overlooks St Johann in Tirol like a sort of Middle Ages lodge. From the outside it looks like so many ski hutten that exist in the Austrian Alps. However once inside it assumes a completely unique and splendid ambience. The owner Anne Marie Foidl is the President of the Austrian Sommeliers, and is truly a force of...

Angerer Alm in Sankt Johann in Tirol is in fact a too good secret to share. This very charming and small hotel, restaurant and bar is situated on the mountain and is a popular stopping place for skiers. Angerer Alm has only 13 rooms which are clean, basic charming rooms. The atmosphere of this place is however top. Great breakfast...

My annual boys ski trip now takes on a different slant with the addition of my wife and two nights staying up the mountain away from the lads at the delightful Angerer Alm. The best food on the mountain and very resonably priced for Half Board (Bed, Breakfast and 3 course Dinner). If you can, ask for room 4 or...
