Although this Gasthof is a little way outside the village we always make a point of eating here at least twice on our holiday. The welcome is always warm as is the dining room and the food has always been superb especially the "freebie" which is "schmaltz" (for the uninitiated "dripping") and a cream cheese with chives which comes with...

Gasthof Oberstegen in Tirol, Austria, is situated in a valley between two narrow sides of hills. In August it is lovely green and it has an nice outside garden restaurant. We had a great overnight stopover at Gasthof Oberstegen. The restaurant served excellent food and had very welcoming and friendly staff. The room was very comforatable and had a huge balcony with fantastic views. Continental breakfast was included in the price with a selection of cold meats and breads.
