Had a reservation and was fortunate to get a nice suite. The desk clerk was very friendly and the room was very spacious and extremely clean. I enjoy the suite set up with an extra tv and couch to sit and have dinner in the room if we choose to. Very happy with Fairfield Inn & Suites, nice places to stay that make you feel at home and always cleanly to a high standard. Very nice!
You might find yourself in Twentynine Palms if you're staying near the other entrance to Joshua Tree National Park, and there are some OK hotel options in this area. I've tried a few of them, and one piece of advice I offer to travelers going here is that it gets HOT. Like, REALLY HOT - and the chain hotels have the best A/C. But of the few places I've stayed out here, the Fairfield is the newest/cleanest/nicest, with A/C that's nice and icy cold (you set it yourself in your room). Rooms are VERY big, even just a king bed room (which has a separate sort of living room/couch space and a large bathroom). If you're looking for the comfort and the "no surprises" factor of booking at a chain hotel, know that this one is a winner.
Such a nice place. Clean and constantly being cleaned... very friendly and helpful staff... after a subpar hotel stay in Los Angeles, it was a breath of fresh air. There's a small swimming pool, a decent breakfast (although sparse because of COVID), and the rooms were nice and comfy. Warning - if you roll into the hotel in the evening after all day in the national park, you'll find many of the town's eateries are closed - especially across the street in the little shopping center. We did find a good BBQ place down the road which was tasty. All in all, a great place to stay when you're in the area.
The breakfast layout is ok, however the have bagels and no cream cheese. I have heard so many guests ask, as I did, "where's the cream cheese?" and we are all told, "we only have butter". I don't think those little packages of cream cheese would break the budget. Please provide.
We stayed here during our visit to Joshua Tree National Park. The location was excellent for access to the park. Decent amount of restaurants nearby, and there is a supermarket across the street from the hotel. The room was a bit outdated but clean. It was spacious and has everything you need for a short stay. Breakfast was grab and go - decent amount of options, including yogurt, oatmeal, muffins, cereal, milk, and juice.
