Driving in exhausted at night, we luckily got the last room available. We'd stayed at many chain motels for weeks, but this place was much better. The owners were very kind to us and we will definitely stay at El Rancho next time we visit Joshua Tree National Park. We could tell that they take pride in their property, because the room and the big kitchenette were perfectly clean and in top condition. It was such a relief to stay over at a quality locally-owned motel with good amenities, and a good room rate, that we extended our stay in Twentynine Palms by an extra night.
Staying here to visit friends and Joshua tree national park. This was right in the middle of 29 Palms, just a 10 minute drive to Joshua tree and right downtown near where the town's best restaurants are. Clean, affordable, has a pool. Owners are also super nice and responsible. Highly recommend!
Pros: Big full kitchen with real gas oven which came in handy for multi-day stay. Staff. They replaced dirty chairs and provided clean bedding and towels when asked. They also fixed the water pressure in the shower. Internet speed. Heater. Cons: Overall cleanliness needs improvement. Bedding and towels, although possibly clean were heavily spotted. Chairs in the kitchen were dirty, stained, and burned with cigarette butts. Bathroom was uncomfortable - sink is tiny, there was no place to even put a cup with toothbrushes, shower had a very poor pressure, which staff fixed the next day. No pots/pans/utencils in the kitchen, it's empty.
El Rancho Dolores is one of the best independent motels I’ve stayed in. Its quaint appearance is straight out of the 1930s when it was built, but if you look behind the facade, you’ll find a modern, well-manicured property. Our room with a king-sized bed was spacious and the bed comfortable. The room included a small fridge with separate freezer, a microwave oven, and a coffee maker. There was also plenty of closet and storage space. It’s apparent that the owners put a lot of thought into upgrades (lots of electrical sockets, modern bathroom fixtures and tile) and maintain it carefully. Best of all, it won’t break the bank. The internet is good and their coronavirus precautions are great. Lastly, it’s the perfect place to stay if you’re visiting the Joshua Tree National Park as it’s only a couple of miles away from the Oasis (29 Palms) entrance. You will enjoy staying here.…
I was checked in by the sweetest lady ever! Her name is Tulouna. She treated me like royalty and I'm jus a plain ol travler! The room is 4 stars but the front desk was 6! Thats why a 5 star rating. Very clean, firm mattress and very very reasonable. Close to Joshua Tree National park too! I will be back!
