#6 of 11 hotels in Twentynine Palms
Located in TwentyNine Palms, CA, just minutes outside the main entrance to the world's largest military base, Twentynine Palms U.S. Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center (MCAGCC). The MCAGCC marine base is only 4 ½ miles to the north. This makes it perfect for 29 Palms military lodging. The 29 Palms entrance to Joshua Tree National Park, one million acres of unspoiled Mojave Desert wilderness is located about three miles to the south. Sunnyvale Garden Suites Hotel is conveniently situated central to the 29 Palms shopping and dining. Sunnyvale Garden Suites Hotel offers the only fully furnished hotel accommodations in Twentynine Palms, including all services and amenities one would expect at any fine hotel. Our junior, one and two bedroom suites are over-sized and roomy. They are beautifully decorated with an eclectic style of new and early 20th-century furnishings. Every spacious executive suite is fully equipped from A to Z: kitchens, high speed internet (wired and wireless), 24” or 27” TV and DVD players. Sunnyvale Garden Suites Hotel is the only “extended stay hotel” lodging in 29 Palms, however we welcome many overnight guests as well. Our large one and two bedroom suites are excellent for group meeting and gatherings. The extra comfort we offer will be very much appreciated after a long day of work, or a full day of hiking, rock climbing or just plain adventure in the Joshua Tree National Park!

The rooms of this hotel seem like they used to be studio apartments or condos and have been converted to a hotel. It's located amongst neighborhood housing, so that also makes it feel that way. We only slept there for 1 night after stargazing at Joshua Tree Nat'l Park, and it was clean and comfortable. But even if we had planned to stay many days, this also would've been fine because it feels more like a small apartment (with a kitchen and refrigerator) rather than a hotel room. The staff were friendly and professional.

It's average across the board... clean... friendly service...large units with full kitchen..,decent bed...pet friendly. and dead center in town. The air conditioner is a bit loud, but it works. If you have to stay in this town, this place works.

Great stay, conveniently located and cheap. These suites are for long-term stays so they have fully-equipped kitchens, stocked with silverware, dishes, etc. The manager was extremely friendly and accommodating. I requested not to have guests in the apartment above me and he moved a family that was scheduled to arrive a few days later (it was not very busy in early July). I had an issue with the bathroom door not being able to be unlocked from the inside (good thing I didn't lock it--I was staying by myself). It was promptly fixed the next morning after I reported it.

We were arriving from San Diego so around 8:30 PM. Because of COVID, there can only be one party to check inside the small front office. The woman walked us to our room and helped us find a good parking spot and recommended some restaurants that were opened at this time. The room itself was fine. The bed was comfy for two. The curtains are not blackout by any means. The bathroom is small but works. I noticed a stray hair on my white towels. In the morning I tried to re-heat some food but the microwave was not working even though it was plugged in. We did not test the tv nor the heater/AC. There was a dining table which was nice to eat our take out on. The fridge was spacious. My partner laughed at the desk because the chair was so beat up looking. He's 6'1" and when he sat down, it sank. Good thing we weren't there to do work but just to get a good night's sleep before a long day of exploring Joshua Tree.

Stayed during busy holiday weekend. $130/night with taxes and that is a lower price than surrounding hotels. The decor is charming. Overall I would recommend the place with a reminder that the low price means it is not a luxury hotel. Expect some inconveniences. Likes: -size of room -grill -location near NP -low price -kitchen Dislikes: -broken/malfunctioning features: outlets, shower head, TV remote, dish drying rack, heater -confusing check-in process -front desk not manned by staff

Response from Tony Naraval, General Manager at Sunnyvale Garden Suites Hotel - Joshua Tree National Park
Responded 22 Feb 2021
Thank you for posting your review. We certainly appreciate the comments that help us improve. We are available 24/7. However, since we are a small hotel, it is not productive for our manager to be always in the office. She could be checking in another guest when you arrived. There is a phone outside the office that connects to our manager for assistance. Your stay is appreciated.
