This is a lovely, older property right in the middle of Kona town. Because it is in town, it is close to EVERYTHING, including Huggo's On The Rocks which is a local hangout. And my favorite thing about staying here is having a morning swim in the private lagoon before going out for breakfast.

Aloha TA family, great to see another guest had another great stay with us. They also share some valuable tips too. Please make sure wherever your travels take you in the world that you do your homework. Our resort offers the best value for location in Kona, hands down. Great views, location, staff etc. We'll look forward to seeing them...

The resort is tired. Our original room had rust around the outlet in the bathtub. The furniture and walls were full of scratches and dints. For the second and third nights, our second “renovated room” was much nicer. Walls and furniture had been painted. However, the bathtub had rust around the overflow outlet - disguised on top by caulking compound....

Aloha TA family, glad to see our friends from Canada enjoyed their stay. True we're not the newest kid on the block, but definitely the best value for location. We continually strive to upkeep and maintain our room product, as well as the grounds and public areas. We have great views, great staff, the best bar in Kona, all along...

The rooms are dated. This surely was a wonderful hotel 20 years ago, but it needs renovation now. We learned that there is a new section that is great, so be sure to ask for a renovated room! The rooms with an ocean view are great, but the ones facing the parking lot are not worth 130$ a night. We...

Aloha TA family, It seems as if they had a nice stay, remember, we do not impose a resort fee as many of our competitors do. If you don't park, you don't pay, if you don't use the wifi, you don't pay, our fitness room is complimentary, and we won't deliver you a newspaper that you won't read either! LOL!...

We stayed 12 days at the Royal Kona in the Alii Tower. Our room was nice, no, no marble or fancy stuff, but definitely adequate. We had an ocean view so overlooked the luau, pool, and ocean. Ocean waves crashing at night was wonderful. Front desk personnel were friendly and helpful. Maid service was fine. The room was clean and...

Aloha TA family, really nice to see a return visitor had a another great stay, and shared some great tips and concerns as well. We strive to provide not only clean well maintained rooms (with great views) but also like to tout our great service. The concerns at the Bar have been addressed, as having the best bar location in...

Every room at the Kona Resort offers you a beautiful view of the ocean--and you'll love your stay! However, not every room is up-to-date, and in excellent condition. That being said, MAKE SURE you book a room in the renovated tower, and ask for a "corner, ocean view" because those rooms have flat screen TV's, mini fridge, and are well...

Aloha TA family, great to see our return guest had such a nice time, and such great tips to share. We're actively refreshing our rooms as we speak, and all rooms have flat screens, fridges, etc. And although we charge a nominal fee for wifi and internet and parking. We do not charge a resort fee as many of our...

My wife and I spent a week in Kailua-Kona and stayed at the Royal Kona Resort. We had a partial ocean view room and had a nice view overlooking the ocean. This is an older resort which probably needs the roof repainted atop of the restaurant, however the staff was very friendly. The pool area was quite small which is...

Aloha TA family, great to know these guests had a relaxing stay. This hotel looks the part from the outside and has a great layout for the location but it feels like a museum piece from the 60-70s. As many others have said, check in no problem. It goes downhill from there. We stayed in the building farthest south and not only was it dated, but not clean.
