We were a group of 6 older travellers staying for 2 nights. FIrst the good: inexpensive, location was decent, variety of dorms for male, female and mixed. Now the not so good: kitchens poorly equiped, one toilet did not work and they were in no hurry to fix, single bunk beds old and creaky, worn out sheets, quiet time very...

I'm an older traveler so I reserved a private room upstairs on the recommendation of my son who enjoyed his stay here. The price is great compared to other accommodations in Kailua/Kona. I called the hostel to let them know I would be late checking in because the line at Hertz was glacially slow (1.5 hours, insane, don't use them!)....

I was there a few days in February, I met a unfriendly staff especially one guy very impolite.... And the opening hours of the reception are not very useful: close all the afternoon to 5 pm..... Also no parking space, all of them were busy....

This guy was very unhappy from the start so he felt it was necessary to write a bad review . We did everything we can to make his stay nice but some people are just unhappy and you can't change that

Plus: The bed was comfy. Minus: The walk to the shops, either the supermarket or the tourist ones where you can swim, involved walking past homeless men either drinking in groups, or asleep in the grass during the day. I wasn't game enough to go out at dark. The lockers were at the top of the dark staircase ( no...

Great hostel its quiet, clean, friendly staff, safe and great location (downtown Kona!) I stayed in a shared girls dorm then moved to a private room for my last 2 nights. Overall great value for money and very chilled out.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a week in the middle of January and it really was a great trip. We booked a private room, which came with a kitchen/bathroom that were just shared with one other guest (who was never around) it was plenty of room and we ended up eating a lot of meals here which saved...

This hostel is huge! There are separate apartments for eight people, 4 in each bedroom, with separate kitchens and bathrooms. Pretty clean for a hostel, with a large upper deck section. They have some parking spaces and are located next to really great restaurants and they are within walking distance to some local beaches.

I stayed 4 nights in a private room. The room itself was very large and pretty empty. No TV or air conditioning. It got hot in the room during the day but at night it cooled down to a comfortable temperature. The room was on the second floor balcony with a view of the ocean. Free wi-fi worked great. The...

This is the place to stay on the big Island. Walking distance to the beach and heaps of food and bars. The staff were super laid back and friendly. They were able to help me out when my bank was screwing me around and also when my friends got injured swimming. Don't go anywhere else.

Loved the atmosphere. Place could be a bit cleaner, but it was not bad. Kitchen was well equipped and I loved hammock outside. Also, it was great to get to use coin laundry on site. Will come back if passing by.
