We spent 4 nights in July in the malia room. The host, Ken, greeted us on arrival to show us around. The breakfast is available from 8am and is very copious , many fresh fruits, different types of breads and coffee cake and fresh juices plus coffee and tea. You can make your own omlettes and they will make you...

My wife and I just returned from 10 days at Hale Maluhia and couldn't be more pleased with our choice of accommodations. Our room was sunny and bright and the air conditioner kept it at a comfortable temperature, important for my wife. The daily breakfast was fabulous with a wide variety of food to chose from in the kitchen. Dining...

Everybody at Hale Malaria Country Inn was super nice. We were greeted with generosity and help finding a place to have dinner, beds and bath were super comfortable, we had to leave early so they made a to-go breakfast very accessible with plenty of goodies, and everybody was just super friendly - would return in a minute.

This place was awesome!!! It was so perfect for our family. I'm so glad we found this place! We were vacationing in Hawaii with a 15 month baby and we stayed 4 nights here. It accommodated all our needs with the baby. I was able to keep babies milk in the fridge and warm it up on the stove in...

We stayed in the treehouse or cottage at this bed and breakfast a couple of nights ago. We had stayed there four years ago as well. The room is very large and nicely furnished. There are only two of us but a larger party could easily be accommodated. The area is surrounded by bird song during the day and frog...

This B&B may not be the most comfortable nor well equiped Inn we stayed at in our full month in Hawaï, but it was for sure the most charming. The site is amazing with its gardens, its birds, its terraces. The buildings are a little outdated, but very well maintained. The breakfasts were generous and varied, the hosts a friendly...

The advertisement for a spa and ponds and waterfalls .... Not true.... Many years ago there may have been a spa but not for years..... Gecko poop on the walls along with resident geckos. The owner Ken is unkept and so is the property. If you don't respect yourself, then you can't respect your guests. His small staff does a...

First time in 25 years I have had a personal attack that I am "unkept" and to the wide wide world. Now how to answer this one and try not to be "rude?" Only that at 83 I do try to be friendly and "kept" and I wonder why folks don't take the time to talk while they are here...

We were happy we chose a place off the Kona strip. We like tranquility and often enjoy basic accommodations. In terms of general location and breakfast, Hale Maluhia was a good choice. We made friends with their gecko which was really cool and their wi-fi was fast and reliable. But something just seemed off. When we checked in, the owner...

First off, I will try to be "NICE" as you suggest though your thoughts are not. First off we have lost thousands of dollars by folks giving us bogus credit card information and left without signing in and stayed without paying and no real way to collect. So we made it a policy to process a credit card upon arrival...

Just a short drive "up" from the bustle of downtown Kona, this series of rooms & cottages affords a very private retreat. Banyan cottage, is an entire "cottage" which seems in the "trees & clouds". You can watch the sunset from your own private deck, with swing. Its very spacious. A short walk to the "main house" for breakfast, will...

Water, yes, our apology and thank you for your patience. Our old galvanized water line rusted out finally. We did not notice until it blew. Now all fixed and not a problem any more. Kona has exceptionally good clean water from deep springs found in the heart of the Big Island.
