We just came back from a nine day trip to Kailua Kona. We were very impressed by the Castle D7 unit. We had an ocean front view and could actually see a manta ray sitting from our sofa in the living room. We, of course, spent more time on our lanai which was also fabulous. The kitchen was stocked with...

We were visiting the Big Island with our 2 children and decided that we would rent a condo for our stay. We thought the Castle Kona reef would be the perfect place to stay. Our unit was f25 and it was a dump. After we got over the shock of our room we thought we could make it work. The...

Our stay here was brief - only two nights - but comfortable. The unit we had was well maintained, with an updated kitchen (although the hardware was rusting), and a great view of the ocean. The majority of the unit was spacious and inviting (lots of volcano artwork!), but I would have preferred slightly more room in the bedroom, where...

The location of the Castle Kona Reef was very good. The property is on the ocean and within walking distance of Kona for meals and shopping. Unfortunately the positives stopped there. The unit had been recently repainted, but there was a large brown stain on the ceiling in the kitchen most likely from a leaking sink in the unit above....

My husband and I have been to the Kona Reef six times and love it for its great location. You can walk into town and the farmer's market there is amazing. October 2011, we stayed for two weeks and realize that the rooms are privately owned so you never know exactly what to expect. The mattress in our bedroom was...
