Great location with shops and cafes very close by. The rooms are clean, quite spacious and offer a good view. Breakfast was basic, the dining area can get a little too crowded. Hotel staff was very friendly.
Once we knew we would be in Seward for two nights deciding where to stay took a little research but we couldn’t have been happier with our choice. We would definitely spchoose to stay on the south end of Seward. Everything was close by that...More
Maybe my expectations were too high, but this hotel is not at "edgewater", but across the street and parking lot from the water. There is a water view, between the trees, however. The balconies, which the more expensive rooms advertised, were about 2 feet deep,...More
The Edgewater hotel is in downtown Seward. A downtown with the feeling of the 90's TV Show Northern Exposure. When you arrive in the hotel you are greeted with freshly homemade chocolate chip cookies. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean...More

The hotel is an easy walk to the Sealife Center that is well worth a visit. It's also only a few blocks from the Seward History Museum that chronicles the 1964 earthquake and tsunami. Also worth a visit. The hotel does offer a free shuttle to the other end of town. We spent three days there and did not have a car. We got along just fine. If you are coming/going on a ship or the train, contact the hotel ahead of time to let them know and they will arrange a free pickup for you. Nice little restaurant right across the street for dinner. Small menu, but everything was delicious!
