From the moment of entering in this beautiful historical building to the end of my stay...Wow, I loved every moment of it. Ms Jan Johnson is the owner of the Panama Hotel built in 1910 and what a lovely lady she is and who really sees the interest of her guess. I have had the opportunity to get to know...

The panama hotel is more like a hostel (i.e. it has clean shared showers and toilets). For that, the price is quite high. At the same time, you get a quite comfortable room with a lot of charme. Also, the price includes a (quite good) coffee or tea and pastries in the associated cafe (which itself is worth a visit)!...

We stayed here for one night. It's fair to say that I cannot imagine another place anywhere in the world just like this one, but in a good way. The gentleman who saw to us was very helpful not only with the room but suggesting where to go in the day that we had. It was nice that he took...

One should really read about this hotel first in order not to be surprised. I only had a quick glance at the description, did catch the word"historical", but didn't really think of what it means. So in reality not only is it located in an old building, furnishing, window frames, doors and some of the amenities are authentic and antique...

We booked a two double room for our family of 4, but when I got confirmation email it became standard double room - which I did not notice till we arrived at the hotel at 11pm and the hotel did not get our booking confirmation from booking.com (my guess is booking.com found out they made a mistake, and try to...

For those folks who read about the Panama Hotel before they book a room, there should be no surprises. The hotel is very old and the owner has kept it in pretty much the same condition as when it was built as far as furnishings go, I'm guessing for the historical value. Everything is old/antique-y, but the bed in my...

This is probably one of the creepiest hotels we've even been to. The place was dark, had no elevator, had no air conditioning, had no bathroom in the bedrooms and had half bake prolong wandering in the halls. My mom was so freaked or she had to take a sleeping pill to go to bed. Save yourself a nightmare, go...

I stayed at the Panama Hotel for the last three days. If it wasnt my last resort I would have moved somewhere else on the first night. The staff was very infriendly. Only one young guy (didnt get his name) went out of his way to help carry bags and make me feel welcome.

From reading between the lines of reviews here I expected pretty bare-bones accommodation. We're used to staying in hostels when we travel and this place was maybe a step up from the usual hostel-type place, with private rooms instead of dorms. No kitchen, no way to store perishable food items in rooms, which would have been convenient for us with...
