Read other reviews about noise so we asked for quiet room. We were in room 306 on the backside of hotel so no street noise but of course no view. Didn't care as noise level was more important. It wasn't noisy anywhere in hotel so maybe it is different in the summer but the hotel was full because of the...

We rented the meeting room upstairs for our wedding and reception. It was tastefully decorated and accommodates about 40 people. The staff assisted us with a decorative ice basin for the wine, and a coffee and tea service for guests. By bringing in our own alcohol, we saved a lot of money on our reception. We also rented a corner...

I stayed here for a week on a business trip in January. The room was large, clean, and comfortable. This is an old hotel that has been updated consequently it has some quirky features. The heat was a radiator that put out plenty of heat, even in winter. The room key was an actual key. I really liked that the...

I last stayed here in 2005. I've stayed at several other places in ANC since. I made a reservation at another place this time, thinking it was this one. We arrived late, tired, cold, and hungry, only to realize I had a reservation at the wrong place! Without missing a beat, we were given a beautiful room, and with a...

We planned a winter getaway to Talkeetna via the Alaska Railroad and wanted a hotel convenient to the train. We prefer historic lodgings to cookie cutter options so were delighted to find The Historic Anchorage Hotel. The lobby and rooms are lovely. We especially enjoyed the junior suite.

Hands down I was very happy with my selection of this hotel because it had character and charm. Rooms are accessed with a brass key, not a digital card. The small lobby includes a fireplace with a chess table, reading material and a guest log book for recording ghost sightings. Staff was friendly and efficient. Hotel offers bare bones amenities...

We really enjoyed our stay at The Historic Anchorage Hotel. The staff were friendly on check-in and check-out. The room was a great size and bed was very comfy. Nice buffet breakfast. Good location for down-town. I would return.

We stayed in the Historic Anchorage Hotel for two nights before travelling to Whittier to do an Alaskan Cruise. I really liked this hotel – our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The hotel was built in 1916 and still retains some of its original charm. The lobby is very quaint. The hotel is centrally located (Anchorage is not a...

Within easy walking distance to the Anchorage Train station and many great downtown resturants. Adjacent to the downtown Anchorage Hilton. We had a clean, comfortable room. It has no air-conditioning, but if the room is stuffy, open the window and run the fan and it is fresh and comfortable in very little time. The price was reasonable for its location....

Not a pretty city and it all seems to be a bit worn down. This includes the Historic Anchorage Hotel. Staff were nice enough but the room was just adequate. Old, but not in a quaint way. Old in a worn out way. I was happy we only had to stay one night. To be fair, nothing else that we...
