I stayed here for two days before an Alaskan cruise. I'd never been to Anchorage and wanted to explore the area. The Grand Hotel was in a perfect location for me. The only negative for some people might be the close proximity to the Alaska Railroad depot. If train whistles bother you, bring earplugs, or ask for a room that...

We appreciate you staying with us at the Anchorage Grand Hotel, and providing your nice review. In regards to the train noise, some guests enjoy the trains and don't mind the occasional horn, but it does disturb others, as you mention, so we have ear plugs available that we give to any guest that feels they need them. I mention...

We had a queen suite, a very nice room. The room was clean but not the dishes. The dishes had food still on the silverware and the bowls. House keeping only changes the sheets every 3 days to save on water. The location is downtown anchorage which is right next to the train. The train is very loud, it would...

The room was a nice, large suite that came quite inexpensively (Anchorage in mid-winter). Location was great. Room was clean & bed comfortable. Breakfast was functional - yogurt, granola bar, cup of oatmeal to prepare with hot water, and fine for the price paid (although all 3 mornings had yogurt a day or two beyond the "best by" date). HOWEVER,...

For what we paid, I'd rate this hotel perfectly fine. Rooms are dated, but just fine. Large and plenty of room with a separate bedroom. Front desk was terrific. Friendly and helpful. There were some cons that made me mark this hotel down though. They were: Room temp: thermostat was set. No changing it. Room was unbearably hot. Asked front...

Well appointed super clean rooms. I had a room on the 4th floor overlooking the train station. I loved it! Hearing the train whistle was music to my ears, but perhaps not for everyone. Excellent value. This was my second stay in the past 2 months and I'll be back in 2 weeks. The bedding is superb, pillows heavenly. There...

Staff very helpful and friendly. We stayed here for 7 days to explore Anchorage and surrounds. Breakfast at your door in a packet worked well for us. Trains do make a noise during the night. Good location to eating places and shopping.

Ok this Hotel is nice, we found the staff ( especially a young Indian man) absolutely lovely, helpful and approachable. The Hotel has a lift but there are about 5 steps going up and down to it from the front door...The rooms are quite big and clean with a great kitchen and sitting area. Beds were comfy.... we found the...

We have stayed here in the past when visiting Alaska and will continue. This hotel is conveniently located to the downtown for shopping and eating as well as the train station. Very clean, roomy and the beds are super comfortable. The best part is the price. Can't beat the price for what you are getting. The rooms have a fully...

Stayed here for 2 nts prior to taking the train to Whittier for a cruise. The location was excellent for all that we wanted to do, which was just check out down town Anchorage and then get to the Train Depot. If you are wanting a 5 Star hotel for a cheap price, this is not for you, you will...

Thanks so much for staying with us, and for the nice "objective" comments. We appreciate the fact that you recognize the difference in rates between what we offer, and what the other hotels offer. One thing we would like to point out about the 5 steps you mention is that we are a handicap-accessible facility, and physically challenged individuals can...

Rooms are okay, they are clean, comfortable bed, kitchen equiped...breakfast is not continental as they say, they put you a bag outside of your room with groceries....no good. Service is TERRIBLE, they are rude, they treat customers extremely bad, with no customer service oriented employees. No early check in, the hotel was empty when we arrived from a 20 hours...
