This hotel is a 5 for Alaska but a 4 in the lower 48. Lots of rooms and was very nice, clean, and folks on most part seem to appreciate business. In an excellent location with various types of eating which I found all three to be of my persuasion. Would stay at this hotel again

The Captain Cook is definitely one of the better hotels in Anchorage. Service was very good and the room was clean and comfortable. Compared to hotels in other cities though it's definitely on the expensive side for what's provided. That's really the way in Anchorage though, so you just have to be prepared for that.

A large downtown hotel with so-so rooms and high prices at least in season.Service is nothing special either but the rooms are clean and relatively comfortable. The best thing was the wine bar with self service pours. No you can't free pour! They have an automated system.

Built in 1965, the hotel was in excellent condition. The rooms and the common areas were lovely and had all the amenities. Staff in restaurant and hotel obviously valued tourists. Excellent location. Walking distance to attractions and shuttles. We would return and recommend to others.

Spacious and well appointed room overlooking the Cook Inlet. Conveniently situated in the city and an ideal stopover for those on cruises, or for a longer stay for those interested in wildlife, local history, Captain Cook and all things Alaskan.

Everything about this hotel was great. We stayed 5 nights in the Crows Nest Suite on the 19th floor of tower 3 and used it as our base for many day trips out of Anchorage. Beautiful hotel. Nice size rooms, beautiful bathroom, nice bedding, nice decor. Hotel has many upscale shops and nice restaurants. Staff was good. Food quality and prices were very good. We only stayed one night as this was part of our land tour before boarding the Princess ship for a 7 day cruise.

I need to preface that this was our last stop on a 2 week Alaskan Land and Sea cruise through Princess, which was well organized. The check in process at this hotel was chaotic to say the least.
